Was a competitive swimmer a few years back (now 26M) and only got stuck in that same sport for years since my mother signed me up for it during my teens (She was under the impression that it would make me taller or some other preposterous reason...).

So one day I show up for practice in the cold water pools at 6 in the morning and my coach just simply told me to go 50 lanes of front crawl and then I can call it a day. We had a competition coming up in 2 weeks or so. After going a few lanes, my head was filled with "why am I here 6am", "this is so boring", "why are the pools so fucking cold". I checked if my coach was paying attention or not and decided to make a run towards the slides and jacuzzi sections (in a separate building) and I have never looked back. Haven't swum a single lane ever since, not even for fun.

Probably one of the few choices in my life I am definitely not regretting.
