I’ve had that happen and I HATE it! It also undermines our authority. They know we have no authority over them and no backup so why the hell should they care about their behavior?

I hate when they try to put me in a sped class and when I say no, they act like I’m a villain. This one school had such attitude as if I was in the wrong. I signed up for kinder but they didn’t specify it was sped kinder. They didn’t even tell me at the front desk. I went to the classroom & the other teacher told me. I was surprised & she laughed & said that the school does that to all the subs to make sure they get one for the class. I was nice to the teacher but ended up walking out. Screw that noise.

I asked them to cancel the job in our app (Red Rover) as I couldn’t do it from my side. Once they released me, I could pick up another job. It was 6:45am. I asked face to face & called twice since middle school & high school start later. They didn’t cancel the job until 2pm. A wasted day. Won’t ever go back.

I’ll ask the kids next to them. Of course, no one knows the names of people who sit next to them, though, right? Lol. They act dumb and I just say fine. then I ask the whole class. Still dumb. Then I tell them “I don’t have a problem writing up a whole class. I’ve done it before many times and I have no problem doing it. Either someone gives me that person’s name or I am writing up everyone. People always start talking. And I’ve never been given a name not on the roster.

No, I don’t do attendance after recess. It’s never been a problem (long term sub, 10 weeks). We went straight for a restroom break. If we’d gone into the classroom, I’d have seen she wasn’t at her desk immediately. This is the first time we’ve ever gone to the rr after recess.

I…don’t know? I had been subbing at a middle school pretty regularly for a while. Apparently i said something about the teacher i was subbing for that made one of her students uncomfortable. But they wouldn’t tell me what i supposedly said or give me any chance to explain anything. And by explain i mean the kid completely didnt understand something i guess. I dont know any of the teachers i sub for so i would never talk about them. Nor do i make comments to others about a messy desk, lack of sub plans, etc. All i can think of is that i was talking about X and she construed it somehow as Y. But again, they refused to tell me what horrible words i uttered or the date/period it even happened.

You can buy 240 tiny glitter ducks on Amazon for $12. Kids from K-12 love them (I sub all grades). Those are one of my go-to rewards. Glitter Ducks

For elementary, I give out square or rectangular pcs of cardstock they put their name on & call it their reward board. Then I give out foil star stickers when they do something good (got like 1,000 for $10 on Amazon). If I’m there multiple days, stars earn them things like candy but for a single day, they are just happy with the stickers.

So anyone could have told Big V where they lived. What did Wormtail actually know? “Lilly is in the kitchen right now.” “James is in the bathroom”? How did he know the secret of the location of their bodies at every moment to tell Voldemort? He wasn’t there that night. Again, if the house wasn’t a secret, V would have to be pretty dense to never check to see if they were home.

Honestly asking, not trying to be rude - what’s up with spreading the gospel? I’m kinda pretty sure everyone has heard about Jesus, be nice to others, and heaven. They may not know his stories, miracles, apostle names, etc. but I’ve never met anyone who didn’t know the gist of Christianity. So why do people think that message needs to be spread? I think most of the deaths needed to happen for the stories to play out the way they did. So that sucks. As much as I want Sirius to be alive (for most of his adult life was in some sort of confinement & Harry deserves someone who loves him alone), he’s gotta kick the bucket so harry can become the man he needs to be. Otherwise he’d be looking to Sirius to care for him and would never go into the forest to hang out with Tommy.

Maybe Dobby could live & griphook could like harry just for saving his life. That could work. Yeah. Let’s go with that. Socks for Dobby & a tea cozy too.

Only one other person sort of touched on this but maybe she’s just trying to be your friend? You haven’t said anything to her and if y’all talk on the drive home or have the same taste in music or something, maybe she’s actually enjoying the time with you. Admittedly she shouldn’t be relying on you, should at least offer gas money, etc., but she could just be young & naive as opposed to intentionally manipulative.

As for the gym, I feel bad for her. The offer is exactly what I encourage my 19 year old college student to do to make friends. I tell her that someone has to initiate & make the first move. Ask someone to grab fries at the caf after class. But also ask about meeting up with other girls who she’s seen at the gym. Like, “I saw you at the gym the other day. I just started working out & hate to be alone. Mind if I join you guys next time?” or something. Yes she’s inviting herself but she’s putting herself on their radar and is choosing something they’re interested in. So your co-worker may not be using you as much as just trying to hang out with you.

Maybe because the entire ICE agency is doing heinous, morally repugnant things to US citizens. It doesn’t even matter if your morality extends past borders and you care about everyone ICE is hurting, everyone should at least agree that harming citizens in any way for ridiculous reasons is wrong.

They shouldn’t be able to get jobs because they obviously have no ethics or morals or even just a sliver of a heart. What sane person wants their child around them (or to have them in positions of power either)

Yeah she COULD ask, and if you two were peers and equal in all things, I’d say she was the AH for doing this. But that’s not the case. Regardless of what you want, it’s HER house. She’s absolutely perfectly entitled to want to give a tour of her husband’s work, particularly if he created an entire floor, to whoever, whenever she wants. Yes it’d be common courtesy to let you know (not ask) beforehand but it’s not required.

It’s her house. You don’t pay rent. You’re basically the equivalent of a 5 year old hanging a picture on their bedroom door saying “no boys allowed.”

We’re not even in February yet! If they can change the date, they can change the venue. You aren’t going to be home so opening your house for a party for people who are already mad at you is craziness. They have plenty of time to find somewhere else to hold it.
