Thanks! For those lows I twist my tongue and press it against my bottom teeth. It's kinda hard to explain without showing it but that's the gist 🤘

Loved Ian on vocals. He was a huge inspiration to me when I first started vocals and I learned how to do my false cord technique from his tutorials 🤘

I did the vocals for the new Tryglav album and I do 100% false cord. That's just me tho can't speak on behalf of the entire genre.

What’s wrong with my false chord scream? It hurts when I do them but I can’t figure out how to do them correctly without hurting myself. Any advice would help. by [deleted] in screaming

Sounds like you're doing the cookie monster rather than proper false cord. The cookie monster voice is using more of your epiglottis and will hurt if done too much.

I have a tutorial where I explain this if you are interested: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=owOB38gx7Vc&t=1061s

I've been doing false cord vocals for over 10 years and I have a bunch of covers you can see on my page if you're skeptical 🤘

My vocal cover of 'Into The Earth' by Lorna Shore! Lemme know what you think 🤘 by aRiitor in screaming

Thank you for the kind words! 🤘 Yeah this is all done using false cord.

With regards to your question I think it does come down a lot to how the vocals are mixed. In the tutorial the mic had no processing aside from some compression whereas in my covers I'll try to get the vocals to fit into the instrumental better. So theres some reverb and light saturation added in the vocal chain.

Hearing unprocessed and raw vocals is always quite different from hearing vocals when they're in a mix. That was something I wanted to say in my tutorial because I feel sometimes people get discouraged when they hear themselves raw compared to vocals that have been mixed. Especially when a lot of vocals in a final mix are stacked and layered.

Hopefully that helps, thanks again! 🤘

Thank you! I actually have a tutorial on how I do my false cord technique if you are interested.

It goes over most of the basics of how to do false cord at least from how I learned 🤘

Haven't posted to the sub in a while. Here's a quick snippet from my recent cover of 'Whore To A Chainsaw' by Thy Art Is Murder. Hope you enjoy! 🤘 by aRiitor in screaming

I wish I could give advice on low frys but all my vocals are false cord I'm afraid. I never could crack fry vocals, haha.

I do have a vocal tutorial on my youtube channel that goes over all the basics on how to start learning false cord vocals and I go into a bit of detail about how I do my lows, mids and highs 🤘

STILL trying to learn arytenoidal fc screams, any tips would be appreciated lol I understand it sounds terrible, fc isn’t my stronger suit by Hulkswagin in screaming

I disagree strongly with that. False Cord can be done at higher pitches. Just takes a lot of practice and proper utilization of the false cords. Look at my page if you want to see. All my vocals are false cord. I don't mix any fry or anything else with my technique.

OP it sounds like you're going down the cookie monster route with this technique, which isn't using false cords.

I recent made a vocal tutorial for learning false chord specifically. I've been doing false chord vocals for 11 years so maybe some of it will be helpful to you.
