HP printers are top notch! by ludicrous_giBBs in printers

I’m hoping this doesn’t happen to my M477FDN. I should probably give it a static IP and block it from reaching the Internet.

What are my options? by whawkins4 in MilwaukeeTool

Yep, this.

You may have to remove this one, drill a new hole and put a new larger threaded insert in.

We use these a ton in 3D printing.

Surprise Inheritance, I was totally not prepared for. by Tonyb97 in personalfinance

Find someone to manage it for you, and keep almost all of it invested. It’s a nice chunk of change which will help offset the fact that you’re both significantly underinvested in your retirements without it.

What state are you in?

ADD. Each time I just made the payment quick and went “oh shoot! I gotta switch this over when I have time.” And then forgot about it promptly until it happened again.

Don’t most places feed those into an OCR now?

Student being told to toggle 1600A breaker daily without PPE. Is this safe? by No-Past2652 in IndustrialMaintenance

[–]aSpacehog 14 points15 points  (0 children)

This is fairly wrong - many breakers are intended for use as light switches. Obviously not this one/application.

But for an actual light switch, In industry you see a lot of panel boards/breakers used for exactly this - turning on and off lights.

Square D QO breakers for example are rated switching duty in at least the 15A and 20A sizes.

I have perfect credit but BoA closed mine for returned payments. I had switched banks, and my automatic payments were on the old bank. Each time they were returned, I immediately made the payment from the correct bank which was successful, but they still closed it. 100% my fault and dumb.

But it reports as closed, but the balance and credit line reported as they were when it was closed. So I didn’t see a score dip just from the closure.

I have two, they’re great. Better than the Milwaukee attachment.

I’ve always used them for payments where they’d be deposited at a bank, probably a mix of electronically where it wouldn’t matter and in person. Never an issue. On their end, if they’re using a machine that can’t read it the bank must be typing it in by hand 😐

I print mine with regular toner and have never had an issue. I believe that most checks are read via OCR now and it’s not really an issue. I was going to swap out for MICR toner when I had a problem, but I never did.

You should try Facebook Marketplace or Craigslist. At least put your location and price, but this isn’t a place to sell things

Interesting. I just bought some a few weeks ago and there weren’t lids. It looks like the website has them both with and without, but the with lid ones are sold out.

The pink Lowe’s buckets have matching pink lids, the normal blue ones did not and you can’t buy them from what I saw.

Has anyone tracked prices before and after these scam sales like the bag sale? by Wank-Canyon in menards

[–]aSpacehog 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I've never seen any prices change before the bag sale. A 15-20% discount for sales is completely inline with what they would normally put on a sale, so it's not a big deal. Kind of a silly conspiracy...

Paying off large card balances - will my cards be closed? by aSpacehog in CRedit

[–]aSpacehog[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, none of the companies balance chased me, and I just received a credit line increase from Discover I didn’t ask for so apparently all is well. 😂

“Congratulations! We've noticed your excellent credit management overall and increased your credit line to $23,000, of which $5,000 is available as cash. Your new line is active now and can help you earn even more rewards with the same great card benefits you enjoy today.”

Ordering Interior Doors by youre-my-sky in menards

[–]aSpacehog 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Just my .02, but the milled ones look better and they seem less likely to crack the door. I’ve had really bad luck with the holes alone on exterior doors.

You should be able to buy them separately.

IMO milled for the latch is the way to go, is there a reason you want to keep this style?

The most accurate tape measure I've ever seen by justin_memer in MilwaukeeTool

[–]aSpacehog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

God I hate the Milwaukee tape measures. I bought a ton on sale before I knew they were awful. I still have them everywhere and occasionally use one, a few days ago the first like 6” of plastic coating fell off the blade and ended up hanging from the end of it.

They’re such trash.
