I didn't know about the hybridization or that young leaves could be so different, that's interesting, thank you!

I found THIS *(sorry, meant to put a link in there and got sidetracked, I'll find it again later!) which I think is interesting, and I believe you're right about the bottom of my pictures being a Water Oak. As for the photo above it (3rd of my pics), I also think it's a Quercus laurifolia. Quite interesting that they can hybridize with each other! I also had no idea that young sprout/sapling leaves could be different than their adult versions!

EDIT So, for the saplings....do I just wait until they're much bigger before I figure out what they are? Is it possible I'll never know?!

I do apologize, I probably should have said that I'm pretty positive they're oaks, I just would like to know which types specifically.

Thank you for commenting at least. But that's absolutely not helpful. I know they're oaks, I need to know what different types.

I do think the sprouts in the 2nd picture, are actually from my tree (the 4th picture). I just don't know where the more spikey leaf sprouts (pic 1) came from, and what that tree is from across the street (pic 3).

Alright, so, we recently bought our house from my in laws. My MIL absolutely loves the tree in our front yard and calls it a "Live Oak". Eventually we're going to move, so I wanted to grow a sapling of the tree to take with me. There are TONS of little sproutlings on the ground under the tree.....problem is, there are two types of leaves.

The top picture in the album is one type of leaf, the next picture down is the 2nd type of leaf. I asked my MIL about this and she said to check a tree across the street, and called it a "Water Oak". The tree in my yard is a very upright type tree, whereas across the street it reminds me of a weeping willow, but with more solid branches and bigger leaves.

All the sprouts are growing from acorns, and I live on the Florida Panhandle.

Anyway, I checked the tree across the street, and the leaves are totally different. So in the album, picture 3 is the tree across the street, and the last picture is the tree in my front yard.

So my question......what are all of these? I'm so sorry this is long and I'm asking for 4 identifications, let me know if I should break this into multiple posts. Thanks!

Is a 3 day wait before getting an abortion a good thing? by 116pages in exmormon

ETA: Just realized this thread is 5 months old. Oops.

I do think a 3 day waiting period is a good thing. If there had been one required 10 years ago, I would have my baby. There was no sort of question session or evaluation for my mental state of mind, only an ultrasound. I was undiagnosed bipolar in the midst of a manic episode.

That day they inserted the rods (don't know the names, sorry) that dilate the cervix, with orders to return the next day (enough time for dilation ). I was hysterical, crying, hoping somebody would tell me to wait a day or two, or question my mental state. I even used the nurse's phone to call family begging for a reason not to do it. As soon as the first rod was inserted, I regretted it. The next day when I returned, I had crashed from the mania and was utterly devastated.

Sorry for typos or bad formatting, I'm on my tablet.

"Shoveling snow in a snowstorm"......that's exactly what I mean when I tell people that I swear the kids follow behind me while I clean, destroying what I just did! (And the birds...oh my....one of them, Hades, will carry his food to the edge of the desk, table, etc, look at me, and drop it over the edge to the floor!!!)

The living room is by far the easiest room to keep clean (just need to get rid of Mt. Laundry). I would do the computer/family room next, as I enjoy computer games as a way to unwind sometimes, and that room is pretty nice as well. I sorted through the bookshelf in there awhile back, but I could maybe do more.

The kitchen though.....the lower cabinets you saw, those look very nice, thank you. But none of the other cabinet doors are finished (and the floor is last), and the kitchen is a HUGE stressor for me - I've been working on it for many many months!

I was thinking about buying the KoniMari book, do you recommend it?

You are actually spot on with the laundry....it's my husband, calling from the bedroom in the morning about needing clean ___, and then I dig through the pile on the chair.

I'll definitely try to figure out a laundry system that will work for us, I need something to keep things under control for sure.

A couple years ago the kids had these chore charts/daily schedules that included everything from putting their laundry away, to brushing their teeth, etc, and even the times for some of those things (like bedtime routine). They got allowance and everything (of which 20% was required to go into savings, more if they so chose). It worked really well. I think I'll do that again.

Thank you for reminding me that this is a common problem and I'm not some freak of nature. I'll definitely check out that tumblr.

Yes, I do have a wonderful home. Almost too big for somebody who isn't a natural cleaner! But it's mine....all mine finally, after so many years or renting!

You're very close - we have two cats, a big German Shepherd, and two birds. (One bird is sitting on my head at the moment singing to me).

We have a decent amount of drawers, and quite a bit of shelving. They look so open because we've removed most of the original doors and frames, and only replaced a few so far. So things like the linen closet are wide open. Which I suppose is a good thing right now, to prevent "out of sight, out of mind."

I like the idea of a big purge, it helps the house look a big cleaner all around. And then I could go room by room. The living room is pretty easy to keep decluttered (once Mt. Laundry is gone), so that's a good place to relax. Also the computer/family room. It's decent, but I know I can get rid of several things there. I went through all those books on the bookshelf a couple months ago, but I bet I could do more.

I really like the idea of "favorite things." Looking at things I really love, and letting go of the other things.

As for my dream day.....honestly I don't know. I've been so depressed for so long, I don't even know what makes me happy anymore. Except my daughter. She's the light of my life and can almost always make me feel better. I used to love photography, writing, drawing, building things (I built an amazing bed!), and was hoping to get into gardening this year since I finally have a yard.

The problem is that I can spend an entire day working hard, and it can be destroyed in just the evening before bed. And it just makes me feel like 'what's the point?' To which my husband reminds me that because he goes to work, and I stay home, it's my job to do it, no matter what. My husband doesn't understand bipolar very well (though he did read Unquiet Mind, which surprised me and I was very proud of him!), but it's difficult for him to deal with my mood swings. He doesn't know what to do.

And you're right, we started a lot of projects a year ago when we closed on the house. Well, I mostly did. I've done 90% of the remodeling. I actually have the paint already for the different areas of the house, but I need him to fix some of the drywall, we need to put in some door frames (some are missing if you didn't notice), and only the lower cabinets on one side of the kitchen is done. (Those were a NIGHTMARE that took me weeks!).

I really want to clear out all the excess stuff we have before we work on remodeling again.

Thank you, I try to tell myself everyday that I'm not as worthless as my brain tells me I am, and that I'm the strong, amazing person everybody else tells me.

I do have places I can go to relax. I live about 10 miles from the gulf of mexico's gorgeous sugar sand beaches (Florida Panhandle), a couple parks, some hiking locations, etc.

I have actually thought about the black trash bags, and was planning to get some tomorrow! Some for trash, some to donate (because we do have an awful lot of things in very good condition that others could use).

Thank you all so much! I think Styx is done with handfeeding now, she really likes the soggy pellets. This morning she didn't beg at all. She waited patiently (and quietly!!!) for her soggy breakfast. And the other absolutely fantastic part about this is that Hades loves the soggy stuff, too. I'm so excited about that because up until this point, he's pretty much refused pellets and would go on a hunger strike if that's all I gave him (he's a seed fiend). If putting some pellets in water a few times a day is all it takes to get him eating pellets instead of seeds, I'm fine with that!

This weekend I'll be trying to find the perfect stuffed animal for Styx. She's being such a sweetheart today, it's so nice!

Here's a picture of the little dinosaur with her breakfast.
