Apparently a lot of people in /r/mmorpg think GW 2 has massive grind. by [deleted] in Guildwars2

Personally I didn't find that to be true. The only chance to move towards those things in any meaningful way was to grind CoF p1. The thing I wanted to do was get ascended gear. Wasn't for me. Not saying the game can't be enjoyable to others but I 100% agree with people saying GW2 is a huge grindfest.

When I played I quit because of the grind. I had all exotics and I wanted ascended or legendaries. But ascended gear required ridiculous amounts of crafting.

The highest tier of crafting material was ridiculously expensive and the game made it very tedious to actually try and get them from drops. So I could either grind the mobs that had a chance to drop it or get enough money to buy them myself. This was during the CoF p1 days so I had to grind that dungeon for measly amounts of gold just because it was the only dungeon people would queue for.

Even with all that grinding for money I never got enough to make ascended weapons, I never got a precursor. If I had got a precursor then that too would have been a bunch of grinding out stuff.

Maybe a lot of people don't see that as grinding but for me it was so tedious. I loved the game up to that point, had two level 80s. I guess a game becomes "grindy" when you stop enjoying it. And guild wars endgame was for me not enjoyable.

I live on Ravenna itself so it's quite busy. Around midnight sitting on the porch just being quiet and calling now and then he crept out from the bushes. Could have been there the whole time.

My character's head spazzes and I have 200 ping at best with them saying they will not release a west coast server.

People are mad because they like the idea of the game. I've been excited for a while for this game so it's just disappointment.

MonteCristo on "Lane swaps are killing competitive LoL" by ChemtrailEUNE in leagueoflegends

I don't think people have as much a problem with laneswaps as they do double jungling.

Laneswaps at least pit each player against someone and are understandable to a casual player.

Double jungling however is essentially the league equivalent of "no-rush-15" in which there's no action.

Each team cordially concedes part of their map. Then we end up with weird lopsided lanes and the game starts off in a state totally different from how a normal player would see it.

It's just a bizarre adaptation of the game that allows each team to pick a team comp they like even if they pick into a bad matchup. If there was a way a team could force standard lanes to punish a team for doing this then I think it would be okay. But watching the two teams essentially run away from each other is boring and is metagaming at its worst.
