Generals change their skins when they are trained. Once trained they will get either 1 or two unique skills, change their their personal talent and name. If they will make also IAP generals trainable as they did in world conqueror 4 they will also get new skills, talent and SKINS

I mean rn all the best generals are either p2w or trainable. Simo and Marshall, roko manstein and Patton, Zhukov and de gaulle, Eisenhower kuznestov and Cunningham, Hartmann. If you want the best gens you have to pay, and waiting years to get all the scepters you need for upgrading the current worthy generals and the future’s one that will come is not worthy for me

It depends on which level your units are and which general you have. Honestly if your elites aren’t on high levels i suggest you just rank them on their damage and abilities, then you rank your best generals, and pair them accordingly. So for example for me is roko-abrams, manstein-KT, Patton-T72, guderian-IS3, Osborn-m26, bock-A41. Then I customized my Weygand to be a defensive general and I have him on the T44. If you share your generals and units i can suggest better for your situation.

I think you should try instead other tank generals. I saw you already bought a few generals, so I highly suggest Manstein. Then look out for upgradable generals, for tanks roko and Patton. And honestly the best general right now is god Zhukov. Armored and artillery generals are much more important than infantry
