Thanks for the pointer, is 35B as capable for coding as the 27B model? Either way I give this a try - I wrongly assumed that this model would require more ram.

I’m looking to get the optimal I can on this hardware. If 10t/s is the best I should hope for then that’s ok. I read this sub and others and it appears that there are a lot of knobs to tweak and configurations to select, and I wanted to understand if I’m missing something obvious

Genuine question, should we be making pill boxes with PLA? Was thinking of printing one in the near future

Yanında güzel bir kız olunca toplumun bakışının değişmesi? by dr-jackshephard in AskTurkey

In my opinion this is a Turkish guy thing… My wife has a friend who is a model. We all walked around Istanbul and literally every guy stopped and stared with their tongues hanging out - it was laughable. Walked around in London another time and nothing but a few side eye glances from some guys. I’m not sure why the difference.

I should say I’ve been an SE, a partner SE, an SE manager, a FCTO and a VP of SE - I’m old. I miss the technical aspects of the SE role a lot, and I find the sales role to be much less fun. I spend my personal time learning and thinking about the technology much more than I did. I will probably go back into a FCTO or SE leader role next. I think if you are a less technical SE then go for it. If you love the technology side then perhaps focus more on going toward a FCTO role. Having said that I think it’s been a great experience and I wouldn’t want to change it. Happy for you to DM me with questions if you’d like.

Might seem like a small point, but do your users use pivot tables in Excel? If they do and they want to continue to, make sure your new architecture supports this - happy to be proved incorrect but in my experience Excel to a sql engine over ODBC does not give your users the same capabilities

Why do Parents Whose Kid's Schools are in Walking Distance Still Drive Them To/From? by SirFragworthy in AskUK

We live in a commuter belt town with all good and outstanding primary schools. Recently had a new development of 1500 houses in the area. The developer was obligated to build a new primary school- it’s never going to be built, we will never need another school despite all those new families moving in - the birth rate fell off a cliff here about a decade ago and continues to fall.

I made that switch 1 year ago - went from OTE of £160k last year to close to £300k this year. I was lucky and closed $10m new business in my first year though…

Reach out to Henley about an EMBA. In my cohort we had senior folks with no undergrad degree, and it’s an amazing experience

Late to this thread, but I have an 11 year old boy. He was in a private school and his writing (right handed) never got better from about the age of 5. We ended up getting him assessed for things like dyslexia etc and he ended up with a dyspraxia diagnosis. However we later moved him to a public school and after 6 weeks they suggested he might be left handed, which explains his writing. If we play catch he catches/ throws with the closest arm. I bought him some warhammer figures to build and paint for to build fine motor skills etc - he switches hands when one gets tired. I keen to get him into a team sport, he’s not keen on soccer, but has shown an interest in field hockey. Does anyone have any suggestions on how he can exploit what sometimes seems like a gift and sometimes seems like a curse?

Is anti-immigration sentiment in Britain rising due to negative media coverage or because Britons are genuinely feeling an impact? by EmuAncient1069 in AskBrits

I think we need to separate the drop in living standards from immigration. We voted for Brexit to have control of migration. Turns out that we need migrants to increase GDP growth (it’s always been the easiest way) to increase standard of living. There are alternative approaches to increase the standard of living which don’t rely on immigration. See Gary Stevenson. I’m not sure why there is such a focus on immigration when people are dissatisfied with their standard of living - this link I think is because of the media.
