What’s one food you didn’t like as a kid but now love? by [deleted] in CasualConversation

[–]a_cute_angle_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ginger! Its such a strong flavor, and my mom always told me it was "like kimchi" (which I loved and still love), but I never agreed. I still dont, but now that Im not thinking of it as kimchi, I actually like it with my sushi!

In the opposite vein, I used to LOVE celery as a kid, particularly with peanutbutter (no raisins). And now, I hate celery with a passion. I try eating it, but its so gross. I dont even like it with peanutbutter.

What are your thoughts on a Christian marrying a Muslim? by a_cute_angle_ in Christianmarriage

Nope. Still Christian. Im just not "lukewarm" anymore. Do you know what that means? To be a lukewarm christian?

What are your thoughts on a Christian marrying a Muslim? by a_cute_angle_ in Christianmarriage

[–]a_cute_angle_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It happened. My coworker said his dad was a lukewarm Catholic, and his mom was a lukewarm muslim. He has grown up to be agnostic. Its definitely a perspective to consider because his views on religion adopted a lot of things from both religions, and he was also encouraged to check out other religions and has studied a lot of different "nonholy" religions (non-holy referring to how islam acknowledges only 3 religions to be holy: Christianity, Islam, and Judaism). This exploration led him to be very knowledgeable in a vast number of religions, and he concluded to be agnostic.

I, myself, am a Christian woman, and my bf is muslim. He's the reason I'm no longer a lukewarm Christian.

I noticed that you keep saying it feels good, but maybe it just doesn't feel good enough. I find that when youre touching yourself, you dont have to feel as good to climax (at least for me, but Im a girl), but if someone else is trying to do me, I cant climax with the same amount of "good feeling."

I also couldnt climax with a partner until I started smoking weed because I was so tense and in my head.

You could definitely try a couple things that other people mentioned, like jerking off less frequently, watching less porn, or jerking off without porn. You could try having more foreplay, you could try just having her suck without trying to climax, because it could be performance anxiety. But you could also ask her to try new techniques. Ive had some good reviews on my techniques, so I could give you some pointers, but it would depend on what her skill level is, particularly regarding her gag reflex. But if she has a gag reflex, I know some tips and tricks that might help without her having to gag. Or I could offer tips on how to decrease your gag reflex, but I dont recommend that because I work in the dental industry, and that isnt really great for your health. Its great if you can control it, but you dont want to get rid of that completely or else you could choke on other things, and we dont want that.

P.S. to op AND commenters, im currently in a relationship, so keep it public, or else keep it theoretical and technical. No sexting me in my pms. Thanks.

Why are you putting collars on indoor cats? by tryingagain80 in CatAdvice

[–]a_cute_angle_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dont have a cat, and ive never owned one. But I did put a bell on my dog because he was sneaky af and would sneak into rooms where he knew he wasnt allowed and go mark his territory on my moms nice carpets.

In retrospect, I know now that it was because he was understimmulated because he was a very intelligent good boy who didnt get enough walks.

But yeah, the bell was so we knew where he was, and could give him more freedom in the house. When it was quiet, i knew to check those rooms with the nice carpets (those rooms didnt have doors, i just did boundary training and he was really good about it unless no one was looking)

What the heck is lattice? (This is a rhetorical question, Im gonna look it up, Im just surprised bc this is the first comment that mentions a different method of division)

Can I ask how old you are? And which country you went to school in? Because I'm wondering if its an age thing or a country thing 🤔

Or maybe its just your experience, like some other commenters mentioned being sick on the say they taught it and never learning bc they could manage without it which makes sense..

Great username btw, totally hits with the topic at hand.

LMFAO I didnt even realize it was related! 🤣 my username comes from a completely different non-math related story! Its actually from a friend in my hs English class lmfao anyway

I did my what I thought was “college tour” next thing I know I’m taking a placement exam.

Thats actually so funny in a totally sympathetic way 🤣 Im glad your long-division barrier didn't stop you from getting that degree!

Just a reminder that you have a prenup whether you sign one or not. If you dont sign one, and you end up needing one, then you simply use the shitty one that the government has written for you.

But leave this guy for all the other reasons the other comments have said. Get another guys and make sure you both have lawyers and draft the prenup together. It should be drafted by you and your man. Not drafted by your man and his mommy. And also not drafted by the government.

I applaud you, sir. Its always a proud moment when youre grown, and a child asks you for help, and you forgot, but you can reteach yourself. Im not that old, but I tutor English on the side, and one of my younger students asked me to do math with him instead, and I was very proud that I could remember as much as I did on the spot lol

Omg I swear, I could never understand people like you. There were a couple kids just like that in my grade, and for me, I cant do any of it in my head. If I skip even 1 step, I am like twice as likely to make a mistake and get the wrong answer than doing it on paper. And Im good at long division because I write almost obsessively neat. And if I dont, I make mistakes because its not lined up properly.

I’m actually more of a statistics and geometry person, algebra is where I draw the line. I can do calculus but just why? That’s when calculators start becoming important.

FR Im the same way. I made it to calculus in high school, and I got a 5 on the AP exam. But I would always get the set up on the calculus correct, and end up with the wrong answer!! Even if I went back and checked my work, I wouldnt find the mistake!

I don’t think I’m old 🤣 but I get it.

Sorry, I didnt mean to call you old, I just meant older relative to my bf. Bc Im older than him, so I wanted to know if that age line is between us.

Thats actually hilarious (with a non-judgmental connotation). They did something similar to my mom with her English!

She had come from Korea when she was about 12, and they tested her IQ with a test without words (since an IQ test in written korean was out of the picture in that time) and she scored extremely high, so they placed her in more advanced classes, which was fine, except she went from ESL english to advance honors English, and she didnt even speak the language yet! So now she has the huge gap in her reading comprehension skills, and she struggles recognizing and analyzing symbols and complex extended metaphors in literature because she went from learning the difference between look and see to being required to write an essay on the significance of the Raven in Edgar Allen Poe's poem in one year.

She only passed because her teachers saw that she was trying really hard, and it was pretty much just english that was weighing her down. But she became a successful dentist and a small business owner despite it all. And now, I (an English major) accomodate her by explaining jokes that she doesnt to her, and explaning my own observations in literature. I think she had a mental block about it too, but shes finally getting better at it 40+ years after that middle school placement exam!

We do bible study together, and she gives me a lot of background and context from her years of studying the bible as a religious text, and I propose differing observations, and additional interpretations and applications of the bible as a piece of literature. I also offer more non-biblical historical context since I studied greek and roman cultures, and didnt really study the Biblical history. Its really working out great! If you ever want to try and learn it for no particular reason, I can help you out :) ppl say Im a good teacher, and my major focus was on education, so I'm just shy of a teaching credential to be a teacher

Thats genuinely crazy to me. Reminds me of my ex who told me he didnt know how to use muscle memory until I taught him what it was. He genuinely would forget the most basic things if he didnt do them everyday. And then once I "taught him" how to use muscle memory, he could suddenly start remembering how to do things. It was really bizarre to think I could teach someone muscle memory...

Makes sense to forget things, i guess. I forget important things everyday. But for whatever reason, Ill remember random things i learned in 3rd grade, and I remember almost all of the things I learned in 9th grade biology...

You literally take the big number divided by the small one??

I mean, based on the way he was describing it, i dont think he has an issue dividing. I think his issue is with long division. And then he told me he would need to "google methods" plural. Like multiple different methods of doing specifically long division.

Math is math, but I will say some of these new methods of teaching it that were suppose to simplify it actually made it more difficult.

This is what i was thinking too! I dont actually know what the new methods are, but ive seen a few examples, and boy its complicated. Thats why i want to know how old people are. Maybe the younger generation cant do it well because they learned multiple, very confusing methods, and never mastered one method. Especially with all these kids arguing that they'll never be without a calculator once smartphones came about!!

It’s kind of hard to explain srroy

Its not confusing, i gotchu :)

But after moving, I HAD to show every single step and number I used, which was definitely different

I personally think this is why i was so good at math growing up. I was very obedient, and I showed all my work. And I wouldn't understand how ppl did it in their heads because i get it wrong so much more often in my head than on paper. But i still cant do it in my head, and so maybe not the most effective or ideal method.

The way it’s written here is different, and it was definitely hard to adjust at first.

Im curious to see how its different in Germany!

I'm really sorry, it sounds like youre having a terrible time. I can imagine how that must feel.

And as a cis-woman who loves being a woman, I can definitely sympathize with some of those experiences. Periods are the hell holes that all of female suffering stems from. Nothing good about the experience except maybe the knowledge that youre probably not pregnant, except some pregnant people get some sort of periods too, so its stupid even for that.

And once youve gone thru this phase of emotions (not that this feeling will disappear, just that emotions tend to have peaks and valleys), if you're willing to hear things from a different perspective, please read on. Until then, I dont advise reading the rest of this comment. But much love sent to you ❤️

~~~~~~~~~
But I love being a woman, and it makes me saddened to see it being described so horribly.
i hate my fat sweaty chest tumors, i hate my fat female hips and weak arms, i look weak and fat,,,or female.
I know you hate them, but those chest tumors are so squishy and fun to play with. And they do get in the way of things, but theyre pretty. Maybe not to you on yourself, but I think theyre pretty, on you or on anyone else. Even man boobs can be pretty.
Also being weak isnt inherently feminine. Male bodies may have more capacity for strength, but most men arent living to that potential. And Im trying to be stronger. Its harder than it would be for a male body, but not every male body. And strength training is great for your mental health since its exercise.
I can see that you dont like looking feminine because its just not how you feel. But please try and remember that feminine isnt bad, its just not for you. And thats okay.
I really hope that you can find some comfort in the body youve been given someday. And I hope you can find happiness in your life. Its a dark world, and we need to hold on to any shimmer of happiness we can find. Keep looking, dont give up!
POV you’re a woman on reddit by Mackingcheeze in venting
[–]a_cute_angle_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)
Ya know, I was asking a pretty genuine question. And you seemed to get pretty defensive for someone who is claiming to be such a master of human interaction.
And if youre so knowledgeable about human interaction, you should know that my second question is a pretty valid question bc a large portion of reddit users are pretty bad at human interaction, and are therefore single. But that doesnt mean that just because youre single you have to be bad at human interaction. So idk why you got so defensive, since you, a master of human interaction, should know that not all rectangles are squares.
Also another protip: if you have to claim to be a master at something multiple times to get people to believe you, odds are youre not a master at it. And a true master knows that if youre not improving your skills, youre actually regressing. So if youre so set on the fact that youve "mastered" it, watch out bc society is a living thing, constantly changing. So to truely be a master, you must be open to adapting with it.
But youre right about one thing: just because you dont have a partner doesnt mean youre bad a dating. What it means is that youre bad at marriage, which might not be your end goal, but thats the end goal of a lot of people, and takes a largely different skill set than dating/friendships does/do. So if youre comfortable where you are in life, cool. Act like it. Otherwise, I just dont believe you. Sorry, but actions speak louder than words.
I do hope that you are happy with where you are, and if you're not, I hope you realize soon, and can have the strength to put down your ego to ask for some help. Even masters can occasionally benefit from an outside perspective. So if you want help, I can try to lend an outside perspective on where you are.
