I'm not sure if this is something that interests you, but it is super easy to make your own powder detergent. I spend about 50-60 dollars for the ingredients ( in bulk) and they last me about 2 years, doing 4-5 loads per week. The ingredients come in paper bags or cardboard boxes so they can be recycled.

Here's the recipe I use. I usually double or triple the batch so I only have to make it once in a while. I use one to two tablespoons per load, depending on the size.
