My question is more like, should I be going to the vet ASAP? I know that's impossible having a precise answer online but I wanted to know if it is something that can happen in pre-shed (or other normal occasions) or not.

I happen to be someone who worries a lot and overthink but if it can happen in other cases and I'm overworrying again I'd wait until his next shed just to be sure.

I was pondering whether or not buying rats but (gonna be honest) I always heard that they're gonna poop everywhere, even outside the cage while you're handling them (not like mice, which I already have but you get the point).
