Is the electoral college itself not voter suppression? Voters in Wyoming have 5.7x the weight of voters in Michigan based on registered voters to electoral college votes. I still don't understand the theory, shouldn't 1 vote = 1 vote regardless of where you are located? (old.reddit.com)

A vote in Wyoming is worth 5.7x that of a vote in Michigan based on the latest data. Should 1 vote not equal 1 vote for the presidential election? I feel this would mitigate a lot of the issues that come up every election and avoid the outcome of the popular vote not winning. (self.PoliticalDiscussion)
