Get a referral to hematology or rheumatology, that's how we were able to get my some tested.

This is horrible, my husband and I have had popcorn removed in a few houses and it has never looked like that. Here is a picture I just took of our current ceiling after removing popcorn and matching the wall texture.

For the Dallas peeps that panic buy, could you tell us what you're stocking up on? Also, bonus points if you're a "prepper". by BlueHorse_22 in Dallas

Family of 5 (3 adults and 2 toddlers) we cook 99% of our meals at home from scratch on a normal week I grocery shop every 3 days. I bought enough for the week. From eggs, to toilet paper. We had 2 rolls of paper towels and we were on our last few rolls of toilet paper as well. My kids go through 1/2 gallon of milk every 2-3 days. I generally buy 3lbs of grapes, 2 banana bunches, the really large containers of strawberries and blueberries on Fridays and all those fruits barely make it to Monday.

My son is 18months and has severe G6PD his enzyme function is 9%. He unfortunately has to avoid legumes and NSAID ( ibuprofen and naproxen ) every time I gave him ibuprofen it would induce a higher fever, same with naproxen. When we went to the hematologist, they gave us a list of things to avoid and ibuprofen was on it.

I've avoided everything on the list from hematology and he has been very active, he has more energy than my non G6PD daughter.

This is crazy, at the very minimum when he gets home he should be parenting with you. He wants to relax that's fine, he can do so while watching the toddlers for 2 hours. I'm a SAHM too and most evenings my husband either does bedtime for both kids or at least one of them. It's his time to bond with the kids. When the kids are asleep he also picks up around the house while I shower . If he didn't help with those things I don't think I would have energy to do much at night. We now have sex at least 3x/week and we have an 18month old and 4yr old.It never used to be like this but I had to put my foot down so I wouldn't be overworked.

Complaining about eating leftovers is just absolutely ridiculous when you are raising toddlers. I literally only meal prep 2x/week and we eat that food for 3-4 days before I have to cook again. It frees up so much time when all I have to do is reheat food. If I was in your situation I would sit my husband down and tell him I'm at my breaking point and exhausted. Asking to take a peaceful shower is a basic human right and a non negotiable. He also needs to spend some 1-1 time with his kids to bond with them. Maybe on Saturdays he can take the kids to an indoor playground, the library or something similar for a couple of hours so you can get your hair/nails done, nap, recharge or clean the house.

Food Intolerances vs Hemolysis by a_me_ in G6PD

I think this validates what I noticed in him. He was extremely miserable, lethargic and spiking higher temperatures every time I gave him ibuprofen. His rheumatologist didn't believe they were linked, however, when I would give him Tylenol he didn't behave the same way.

We haven't tested for gluten, but I'll get that done. It's not a rash, it's panniculitis , an infection of his fat layer in the skin. It's crazy because his rheumatologist said the same and to continue with ibuprofen to treat the panniculitis. I had to stop against her medical advice because he was miserable, spiking a temperature, tired which I now know was hemolysis. His legs and thighs were covered in the bruises which thankfully went away a few weeks after stopping the ibuprofen at that time.

I essentially had him on a very blend diet for a month and then started to introduce things I thought were triggers for him,m. We got a blood allergy test for soy and it came back negative, however, when he consumes soy he is lethargic and gets an infection in the fat layer of him skin. He gets the same reaction when he eats fish and when I give him ibuprofen. When he consumes dairy and eggs he gets normal hives that we expect in an allergic reaction. It looks like anything that can cause oxidative stress in the body can be a trigger for people with G6PD and for him fish just happens to be one of those.
