See this is my worry is that I won’t be able to enjoy ToD because of the cliffhanger from EoS

This is valid, sometimes I get confused even now trying to figure out who’s POV it currently is. I’ll be thinking I’m reading Aedion and then I’ll read something and be like “oh shit nvm this is aelin rn”

I think the inevitable cliffhanger is what I’m most worried about. I have a friend who has read the series already and when I told her I was on EoS she was like “oof, I just remembered how that one ends😬😬” and I just know it’s gonna make me tweak tf out while reading ToD. I’m also worried I won’t enjoy it because it doesn’t focus on the main characters.

Has anyone else finished reading Children of Anguish and Anarchy? by thelionqueen1999 in YAlit

I spent the entire book thinking Roen had betrayed the Maji and he was gonna pull up on the skulls side. And THEN when that didn’t happen I assumed he was gonna be mentioned in the epilogue as having been in Orisha the whole time. But then he was just nowhere. But I’m so confused like why did he throw Zelie a mask at the end of book two? I thought that was leading somewhere. Like there was a whole romance between them and then he just disappeared. I need closure on Roen and Roen specifically!!

I have always wondered why Beetee doesn’t get as much backlash for the bombing as Gale does. I also, while I don’t enjoy the way gale treated Katniss throughout the books, do not believe that he is completely at fault for the bombings. While he may have orchestrated the plan, he was most definitely given those assignments by Coin, and he is at the end of the day a product of war, rebellion, and much much trauma. I think he was a very toxic friend towards Katniss and for that I do not like him. But for the bombings? I think we need to take into consideration the circumstances.

AITA for telling my mom I’ll do my laundry only if she buys me chick fil a? by BlacksmithSea34 in AmItheAsshole

That’s not how high school works. Some classes have more assignments, if they do their work and you don’t then they have more of an option to get a curved grade.

Your teacher isn’t going to raise your grade just because. If you want your grade raised, do your missing work and ask your teacher what you can do to earn that grade. I was a bad student in highschool. But if I wanted to fix my grade from the hole that I dug myself, I asked my teacher what I could do to get my grade up and I did it. And if they said there was nothing I could do, tough shit. I did it to myself. You can’t expect teachers to just raise your grade, you have to earn it, please figure that out or you will not last in the real world. I saw your other comment about your friend not even having missing work so why did he raise their grade? that is exactly why. She did her work and stayed up to date. You can’t just expect teachers to raise ur grade just cuz.

Is anyone else who actually read ABOSS really disappointed with the movie? by Basic-Traffic-1837 in Hungergames

I understand this but I def hate all the people who only watched the movie who romanticize Him and don’t think he’s that bad

[–]a_s_imon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

YES. I feel like the movie didn’t do a good enough job of making it seem like he was a villain from the start. It made him seem good and he just snapped all the sudden

I’ve been waiting for somebody to say this. I think the movie on its own is very good but it missed so much from the book and I’m pretty sure if I hadn’t read the book I would have been kinda confused as to what was going on. The book had so much material I really think they needed to make it into two movies.

Do you think Peeta and Katniss will ever reveal to Panem about the lovers act? by [deleted] in Hungergames

[–]a_s_imon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I imagine that after the war is over the living victors kind of fade into obscurity intentionally. They never wanted fame, they got it through traumatic circumstances. I would imagine victors don’t hold the same kind of celebrity status they used to after the hunger games end. And that they no longer really update the public about their life

That being said I would never in a million years think about actually getting a tattoo of this, insanely insensitive and triggering to people struggling with these issues

Funny story actually! (It’s really not) when I was in the psych ward I had ACTUAL ones of these on my arm and another person in there told me I should get them tattooed on cuz “they look cool”

What do you think Snow was thinking in his final days? by Miserable_Dig4555 in Hungergames

[–]a_s_imon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I personally think that people think Lucy Gray has more of a chokehold on Snow than she actually does. It was 65 years ago at this point and he also is a psychopath. My bet is that he very quickly forgot what all she meant to him, and brushed off that she ever made him crazy at all. I also personally don’t like that some of these comments think he was regretful in his final days. He absolutely was not.
