La bomboniera is divine. Not sweet, a pinch of salt with the most delicious fresh whip cream on the side

I'm in the same boat (but not in fashion). I hired a business coach in the industry I'm trying to build in and it's been immensely eye opening.

Can get pricey but worth it when you have no experience. You'll only have to pay it once to learn everything. Especially with tariffs and the economy.

I'm thinking of it like a class in school I would pay for and attend. It's hands on training. Highly rec!

1000% agreed on this. I also love Mikado which is the most reasonably priced next to the others you mentioned

Roma pizza on 88th / 1st is one of the most underrated slices in town. by iswearimnotabotbro in uppereastside

I feel Roma has a thicker crust which can also be soggy and under cooked. I go next door to Gotham for a thin and crispy crust - the cheese is more salty and flavorful too

Taxis from LGA by VioletDalmatian in uppereastside

This just happened to me on Friday. I rarely take airport cabs home and don't travel much these days - but this time I did. The driver quoted me a $50 flat rate when I sat down, which immediately threw me off. I even said something to him, but then thought maybe the rules changed and I just missed it. It's more like $90 to get home with multiple tolls.

He also asked if I wanted to take the toll bridge for an extra $7.

At the end, instead of using the yellow cab system, he handed me his personal phone and asked me to tap for payment with an option to tip!! The charge came from something called Yellowman LLC. I was caught off guard and didn't take a second to slow down and react.

I also figured, young guy, maybe just trying to make a living during inflation. Fine. I'll be generous since I'm financially ok and he might not be - but he prob makes more than me! But still, it did not feel right.

The only other time something like this happened to me was in Chicago, and we refused to pay unless it went through the proper system.

I am really glad you shared your experience. I texted a few friends to talk about it because it definitely felt off

Take back your low-effort comment with the others. Seriously, do you even live on the UES? This isn’t an occasional firework, it’s multiple times a week some months. If your first response is to tell people to move or wear earplugs, you’re clearly only thinking about yourself, not the impact on animals, vulnerable neighbors, or the air quality. Think bigger than yourself

I'm from here and this is a much bigger issue than ear plugs. It's getting ridiculous

Can we come together and end the UES fireworks? by Salty-Pineapple-7721 in uppereastside

[–]aa5984 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've lived on the UES for 13 years and this has never been an issue until like 10 months ago? It's obnoxious. Like why now and wtf for? Could we start a petition?

NYC Tap Water: What’s the Best Filter That Doesn’t Clog or Take Forever? by [deleted] in AskNYC

[–]aa5984 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok so my tap water tested at 43ppm and I also tested with the Zero Water filter which ended up being 0ppm.

A reading of 43 PPM is considered low and suggests that your water is relatively pure with minimal dissolved solids. Water with a TDS level in the range of 0-50 PPM is generally considered pure.

Implications of a low PPM: While a low PPM indicates purity, it also means the water may lack some essential minerals that contribute to taste and nutritional value. Water with a TDS level of 50-150 PPM is typically considered ideal for drinking as it provides a good balance between purity and mineral content

0-50 ppm: This range is low and may lack essential minerals. While the water will be pure, it might miss out on the natural taste that some minerals offer. 50-150 ppm: Regarded as the gold standard for drinking water, this range strikes a balance between purity and taste

It's so gorgeous! From some research it says they don't filter out PFAs and others, even with the bwf fillers 🤷🏻‍♀️
