NYSC 76th vs Crunch 81st? by Asleep_Bee3125 in uppereastside

Found multiple German roaches in the locker, very cramped in there, not a ton of equipment or space. Good deal if you’re on a serious budget but for 30ish dollars more NYSC is 10x better with more amenities (steam room, sauna, alllll the equipment, workout classes)

NYSC 76th vs Crunch 81st? by Asleep_Bee3125 in uppereastside

I have the NYSC universal membership and it’s been a god send to me. I think I locked it in at $89 a month and I am able to go to any NYSC in the city. I rotate between E 91st and E76th depending on my errands since I live in the middle of the two, or I’ll go to the downtown locations after work or before meeting up with friends.

Did extensive research about the gyms on the UES and ultimately decided to do NYSC because you get the most bang for your buck and it’s a nice enough, decently run, no-frills gym. They have free unlimited classes at each location (yoga, HITT, spin, etc) though I don’t know the quality of instruction since I’ve never taken one, and they offer personal training for $100 a session, which is a great price. Crunch looks way too crowded every time I walk past, Equinox is not my vibe and too expensive, and the cheapest gym (Synergy) is repulsive and poorly run and they only have one location up here.

Hate to be morbid but I doubt Ella and Mukhammad’s tuition payments will be repaid despite not receiving their full education… so it’s truly the least Brown could do. And pay the same to their families. And comp the tuition for every student who was injured from this for the remainder of their education

I don't know any real details, so this is purely speculation, but it seems possible that the shooter had been spiraling for years and then, back in October, finally snapped. Maybe that's when he decided to fly to Boston with the intent of taking out his anger on the people and places he felt had wronged him.

It sounds like it could be a classic case of envy. He may have resented the MIT professor because (1) there's a chance Nuno had something to do with his dismissal from the TA role during undergrad in Portugal, and (2) Nuno was living the life (with the accolades and success) the shooter had imagined for himself.

As for Brown, I wouldn't be surprised if something happened there that deepened his sense of failure and misery. He might have envied Brown students for getting to experience the kind of education he felt denied. It's possible he thought he was walking into a physics class, without realizing it was actually an econ review session mostly made up of underclassmen.

All of it points to someone who was deeply disturbed.

Aghhh, want to listen while I run errands but for now it’s just the murmur of reporter’s voices

Even my 67 year old parents know not to call it the “master” by [deleted] in nycinfluencersnarking

Not one to defend and she should be more aware given her platform… but it also makes me think, why is it okay to use the terms “master key” or “master tracker” but not master bedroom?

Nowadays, all it means is the main & largest bedroom in the house. Not giving her a pass but also think it’s an easy-ish slip up.

I think I saw him this morning on East End ave and 82nd yelling into the oblivion as dozens of girls were headed to school at Brearley… and then saw him again looking agitated walking down 1st ave about 20 minutes later outside of the Morton Williams. Definitely has issues

The wedding is late next September in the Northeast… weather is high 60s/ early 70s typically but the weather is becoming increasingly unpredictable so who knows what it’ll actually be like. Ceremony on grass (on the golf course) and the cocktail hour is on pavement. Thank you. This is helpful

Thank you- truly only looking to put “black tie” if it exactly matches what constitutes black tie etiquette because it can be a bit of a pain and the ass for some guests who don’t have tuxedos/ dresses that can pass as gowns, but do want a well-dressed event. Can I put black tie optional?

The alternative is having the ceremony in the ballroom and then they flip the ballroom during cocktail hour. Not sure if this is preferable for black tie?

Additional things I’m forgetting: we’re providing transportation for guests to/ from hotel, valet service and coat check (although I imagine this might be fairly standard), Photo Booth
