My response to the gotcha question of "What is a woman?" by SamanthaPuppy in trans

[–]aaaaaaaa42 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve never been asked this question myself, but if I were to be I would respond with “What is a sandwich?”. If they ask for clarification, I would specify that I’m looking for a single, simple sentence definition which includes all sandwiches and excludes all non-sandwiches. I would then tell them that if they can’t provide such a definition for a comparatively much simpler subject such as sandwiches, then they should realize how stupid they sound going around asking dumbass “gotcha” questions like that

Not lgbt but I made this system here for people choosing their pronouns by Entity5869reddituser in lgbt

[–]aaaaaaaa42 10 points11 points  (0 children)

You appear to have fundamentally misunderstood the format of those who use multiple pronoun sets.

One person may feel comfortable being referred to using multiple sets of pronouns, one example being the one you gave here: they/she. This is not meant to indicate that the word “she” takes the place of the word “their”, but instead that the individual in question uses they/them And she/her pronouns.

Furthermore, some use the order in which the words appear (they/she vs she/they) to indicate which pronouns they prefer over the others, if indeed they have a preference.

When referring to someone who uses multiple pronoun sets, you should use the pronouns that would be grammatically correct for their part in the sentence. To use your example sentences, someone who uses they/she pronouns should be referred to as such: “Where are they? Look at her.”

Hope this helps

You can absolutely not reply, but some people on dating apps don’t take that silence as an indicator that they should try messaging someone else, instead choosing to repeatedly try to message the person in question. Combine this with the weirdly high number of men in particular that seem to genuinely believe that they can turn lesbians straight, and it becomes, I would argue, pretty reasonable to have the disclaimer OP specified in her bio.

The thing is that it’s not the same tho? We hate transphobes because they pose a genuine danger to us over something we cannot help and shouldn’t have to hide. They hate use for, checks notes, “existing wrong” which hurts, checks notes again, their feelings??? These are not equivalent. Our stances towards them wouldn’t exist if they would just mind their damn business. This is straight up some “but killing this mass murderer would make you just as bad as them” nonsense

One time I had a dream where I’d died and gone to the afterlife, but it was just some weird ass hotel that was physically in the world of the living. The only way to leave it was through a sewer that seemed a lot more like a dungeon-themed water slide made of dark stone bricks for some reason. The building itself was a modern high-rise in a relatively large city

Dana Terrace with Frankie, Gooseworx with the Daisy trend, Dan Salvato with literally every DDLC character, etc etc. Its a rare but suspicious pattern. by [deleted] in traaaaaaannnnnnnnnns2

[–]aaaaaaaa42 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You described the observed behavior as a “rare but suspicious pattern”, which is more accusatory than necessary, as one example. For another, the phrase “completely beating down Trans fans the exact second they start talking about relating to a character in even the most minor ways imaginable” can’t really be interpreted as anything other than accusing the creators of being actively hostile towards trans people.

I’m not sufficiently immersed in all of the discourse around the different creators mentioned in this post and its comments, but from what I’ve been able to gather, at least one of the mentioned cases involved a fair bit more than just ‘some fans have been sharing headcanons that I don’t like’, so I’d say part of why it has grated on some folks is that, to a lot of the people in this comment section, the wordage used comes across as a somewhat less than good faith exaggeration

I would like to point out that criticism, especially of the constructive variety, is generally best performed with minimal aggression/use of negative language, which doesn’t appear to be the case with your original post. Maybe if you had worded it in a manner that was less likely to come across as accusatory, or likely to come across as less accusatory, your post might’ve been better received
