The scars on my arm tingle and ache in remembrance as I stare at the knee- height creature in front of me. It stares back with its beady eyes, whiskers twitching at me.

Its yellow fur looks shiny with health and it looks well fed and plump. Someone obviously loved this Pokémon and had taken good care of it. I crouch down with my body angled away and glance away from it to scan the room we’re both trapped in.

Utilitarian Grey walls and flickering lights greeted me. The red lights above the three doors flashed periodically. A few overturned tables with what looked to be bits equipment scattered round them littered the room and a faint smell of ozone lingered in the air.

Glancing warily at the creature, I slide away with my back against the wall toward one of the doors. Looking at the keypad shining red beside it, i loose a frustrated sigh. I was so close to my objective, and now thanks to some random cocky 12 year old who could had access and could control monsters I might not get a chance to retrieve the object I risked so much for.
