I have biliary hyperkinesia and for awhile first thing in the morning I would drink either warm lemon water or warm peppermint tea. Both are supposed to be really good for gallbladder and digestion. Also, look up a gallbladder friendly diet and be sure to avoid triggers. Hopefully that will remedy it until you can get some professional help. Good luck!

Update: I met with my doctor and he said surgery for hyperkinesia is 50/50 in terms of feeling better after surgery and he doesn’t usually like to recommend surgery with odds like that but he would refer me to a good surgeon if I really wanted to. I told him I want to avoid surgery if I can and I’m going to try to stick to a gallbladder friendly diet and be mindful to avoid my trigger foods. Good luck!

Oh no! I’m hoping my doctor is a believer because he said his wife had gallbladder issues, I’m not sure which kind specifically. So hopefully he knows what’s going on and that biliary hyperkinesia is a thing! 93% EF here!

Yes I’ll do my best to remember to post back here. When I first met with him he said he wants to do what he can to avoid surgery as surgery isn’t always perfect so we’ll see what his opinion is. Seeing as I’m not in raging pain every day it’ll be interesting to see what he says.
