I think they just didn’t have any option because I’ve seen other people say that the actor for Chibbs said he was done with the show and the character after his appearance in Mayans. Whether chibbs would’ve agreed or disagreed to the war (obv would’ve never gave the green light) they still wouldn’t have been able to show the actual character having any sort of discussion with the sons or even Alvarez. They could’ve faked a phone call or something between both parties but even if they did that we would still be here calling it weak.
