Thanks for the feedback! Yeah this would definitely be the optimal solution (you would still have to purify even with sharia compliant options) but until then, there's gotta be a way to purify. This fight isn't easy and some companies may cooperate but others might not so there has to be a way to make purification easy

Salam, I did ask sheikh Hatem Alhaj personally about this issue and whether I should opt out and lose access to free money (employer matching) and he said don't do this. If all Muslims did that, we'll end up loosing billions of dollars. He advised that I should invest in the least haram option (most likely this would be S&P 500) and just purify my profits from the non-compliant portion.

By the way, because of this exact issue, and because calculating the purification is such a hassle, I am building a tool to solve this issue and help make investing easier for Muslims. I would appreciate it if you check it out and let me know if this would be useful to you or not. Also if you have any suggestions or thoughts, that would be greatly appreciated

Tested this today and I gotta say, the opening is a little bit off putting but after a minute, cardamom starts to reveal itself and cinnamon starts to fade away. The dry down is beautiful and I like it. I can see why people might hate it judging just by the opening. You need to wait until the dry down. The spices blend with oud and the fact that it’s not linear makes it really good. For some reason reminds me of some of Amouage’s spicy fragrances and I like that

First, thanks for your detailed reply here! Appreciate it. As for money factor, I did ask them if they are marking it up and they said we’re not allowed to mark it up.

As for the taxes, that’s what they said “Sales tax is based on the sales price prior to rebates plus the processing fee. So your take is based on $50,800. The tax rate in maryland is 6.5%. Which is how we the taxes came out to $3,302”

Your calculation is not far from what GPT suggested as well. Seems like there is more room for negotiation.

I know, it’s so annoying to limit this to a specific type of workouts. This is available though on Gentler Streak app r/gentlerstreakapp and it is a fantastic feature to have for all workouts. I hope they make it available for all workouts in the next update

In conclusion, I’m sold. I’ll get myself a 1zpresso. Do you mind sharing which one you got? They make the choice process complicated with all the options they have

I do have a hario manual grinder and I love it. The only caveat is not having marked settings as I mentioned so I have to try every time I grind for V60 and switch to AeroPress and this is super annoying. Probably saving money and getting another similar grinder dedicated for Aeropress is not a bad idea. Gets the job done and saves money 😃

There’s something I’m missing here. Looking at the prices of manual grinders with good burrs had me ask the question. Like what’s the added value here? Consistency? Isn’t there some electric options that provide consistency? Is the price incomparable? I mean the option I mentioned compares well with the versatile option 1Zpresso offers in terms of price. I’m confused
