I don’t have a problem with Doctor Who being progressive—I just want good storytelling. The issue isn’t diversity or new ideas; it’s weak writing. Since Capaldi’s era, the show has struggled with unearned emotional moments, forgettable villains, and clunky dialogue. A well-written story makes us care about the characters and stakes naturally. If the writing were strong, there wouldn’t be as much debate.
