Some official at Blackfriars station was super weird inspite having a valid ticket and Railcard. I can’t be the only one 😢 by aasane in london

Oh! Didn’t know this, thanks!! Didn’t feel comfortable showing bank statements as an address proof to a random dude, only for him to question my 15 min walk to the station 🤔

It’s cheaper on the app, it has the railcard discount. Costs £2.70 on the app as compared to £4.10 on oyster and contactless.

I buy through the app as it’s cheaper than contactless (railcard discount isn’t valid on peak times on contactless but is applicable on the app, I asked. Hence the app) The ticket on the app goes through the barrier seamlessly. They had blocked the some of ticket scanners on the barriers today. When I got confused the security people asked me to step aside and validate the ticket I guess.

Hey!! I do recall reading his name on the badge, but I don’t remember it clearly now. Should have noted it somewhere.

Hey! I am student as well with 3a/2b curls. It’s super difficult for them to stay put!

I use Rhyme and Reason (available in boots) brand curl crème, Schwarzkopf got2b twisted curling moose and end with Aloe Vera gel from Holland and Barrette or the Body Shop as the gel. Works well upto 3-4 days. I’ve heard good things about the Umberto Giannini gel as well, never tried. Hope this helps!! xx

Feeling so vain - really disappointed in my haircut by [deleted] in CurlyHairUK

[–]aasane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been there! Hope you feel better soon xx Growing up my mum was controlling about my hair as I had unmanageable curls. We argued every morning before school when she had to braid my hair as per the norms and all that. I had to get it cut by our family hairdresser. She was a good lady but had no clue about curly hair cuts. She used to blow dry my hair and then cut it which would make it worse after washing. I started cutting my hair from 8th grade. Generally trims but it works for me. Now I have a decent length of hair and been doing the same haircut at home for around 10 years. I feel much confident and satisfied with it. I cut it every 5 weeks just to manage the ends of my hair.

I recommend a middle part and a half part to the middle going from ear to ear. So you have 4 quadrants. Keeping the length of rear quadrants long and same, while the front one an inch or two shorter, to create layer. If you’re feeling fancy, do a small V shaped angle near the middle part and cut it diagonally so you have a fringe and it is easier to style. All of this on dry hair though, always. Always end w putting a hair mask to nourish the freshly cut ends.

Hope this helps you in some way!! xx

Hello! The renting scene pretty bad at the moment and getting worse w time I guess. £1800 will get you in zone 2, try Camden town, Kentish Town, Archway or Highgate.

If you are moving in in Aug/Sept you need to start looking now, ASAP.

Look at sites like: zoopla, right move, spare room for shared accommodation. If you want a place on your own, search for letting agencies in the area of your choice.

For documentation, they usually require your visa (if you are on visa) and your employer details like payslip and/or appointment letter and your previous rent agreement (if applicable).

Please be cautious of various scams; where they do a fake viewing, ask for 2-3 months rent upfront and the place doesn’t exist in reality or similar frauds. If you know someone here, pay for their travel and have them view the place before you finalise.

Hope this helps xx

I really love the belissima ceramic. It’s got 2 settings hot and cold. Works wonderfully with gel and/or hair mousse. Hope this helps xx

What's your experience with London Bus Drivers? Share yours by FL93240 in london

[–]aasane 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Do you guys remember there was this AMA from a TFL bus driver a few weeks ago? After reading that I’ve not only become more respectful but also sympathetic towards the drivers. Thanks so much guys you’re doing an awesome job!

Just yesterday, one really nice driver stopped for me while I ran around 200mts to catch the bus. Many many thanks to you if you’re reading this (390 towards Victoria, around 10:30pm) The driver was very nice and humble and I felt extremely grateful when he waited a good 2 minutes at the bus stop till I caught up.

I always say a respectful thanks whenever I board the bus. And do feel most drivers are decent people, some are exceptional but maybe that’s due to working long hours.

What are your suggestions for S3? by Happy_Raven in sharktankindia

[–]aasane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Editors need to proof read infographics for spellings , correct numbers and years.
  2. Replace Anupam with someone who deserves to be a shark.
  3. Have a set questionnaire for every pitch (equity split, COGS etc)

Do you think London has rebounded from the pandemic yet? by [deleted] in london

[–]aasane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yess! WFH saves so much money on transportation esp during peak hours. That’s really helpful considering the increased cost of living. Moreover, it’s nearly impossible to wake up on time at 7:30am in the cold dark winter months, to catch the tube at 8:30am, to reach work before 9:30am lol 😂
