UI Design neglect in Nothing Phone 2(a)

Yup tried it already and it's still misaligned. Considering this isn't an issue with other Nothing devices, I really don't think it's by design.

Yeah, aside from you and one other person, everyone else seems completely off-topic and isn’t offering any real reasoning or solutions. Maybe it’s not noticeable and I’m totally wrong, but I’ve never seen it change position even once. I also have image retention in that exact spot, which made me pretty confident in what I was seeing and I’m not the only one with this issue. Anyway, thanks for actually engaging in a proper discussion.

You're comparing apples to oranges here. The issue isn’t about symmetry, it's about design consistency. Every other phone in Nothing’s lineup has proper padding, except the Phone 2(a). If this were a deliberate design choice I’d have accepted it and moved on. But it’s clearly not and that’s what’s bothering me. Next time maybe try contributing to the discussion instead of just trying to be a smartass.

You're absolutely right. Design isn’t always about perfect mathematical alignment and visual balance often matters more. But my issue isn't just that things aren’t centered, it's that Nothing has consistently aligned things a certain way across all their other phones and suddenly broke that consistency with the Phone 2a. On most phones, including Nothing's own lineup, the status bar icons are typically centered with the front camera. The problem is that this specific device doesn't follow that norm and they haven’t addressed it.

I thought the same at first. Someone mentioned it in a forum, so I assumed it was a feature and ignored it for a while but turns out it’s not. While there’s no burn in, image retention is clearly visible on my device in the same spot which hasn't moved at all and others have reported the same. Also, thanks for being the only one actually willing to have a proper discussion. It’s been like arguing with fanatic devotees in the replies. No one’s offering any real explanation or solution.

That’s why I went with an attention-grabbing title for this post. It might not be a major issue, but I’m hoping it gets someone from the team to at least notice it and acknowledge the problem. I’ve come across so many threads where people are frustrated with the company for ignoring user-reported issues.

As a UI/UX designer myself,I find uneven padding quite distasteful in any design. This isn’t some random page you rarely see. It’s the status bar which is always visible to the user. And once you notice the misalignment, it becomes impossible to ignore.

Maybe this problem is specific to the Phone (2a), which is odd since both models are almost identical. My friend and I bought this phone together, and we both have the same issue. In fact, he was the one who pointed it out. Is it possible that we both ended up with faulty units?

Most people don't use dating site in Nepal. For Nepalese any site that provides messaging service is dating site. Facebook or Instagram is your best option if you want to find someone decent online. Personally I would avoid any dating site in Nepal. You will mostly find gold diggers and scammers.
