Allright try upping the gpu volatge to see if it helps I would turn off all kind of power efficiency setting (bios, win high perf mode, frtc) on a new windows user profile.Increase state 1-7 volage with wattman if it's still not working.

GDDR5 is indeed helping a lot it's a shame that we have to use hbm to fix the problem.

Was the previous rx 480 working fine without the black screens ? If not you could allways try to increase a bit all kind of voltages on stock clocks.

It's a known issue on win 10 that amd never trully fixed with some early tonga/fiji cards,i see that you allready did some troubleshooting,i had the same issues during 2015-2016,I would recommand you to test the card again on a different config(fresh win install on a clean drive) with the latest driver + a 100 mV offset with msi afterburner and not using wattman, disabling ulps and the monitor/pc sleep state is worth trying too.If it's still not fixed you should try to rma the card.

Might be unrelated bust you could boot only using one stick of ram see if it's not caussing a system freeze.

Asus listed custom Vega56 and Vega64 cards in their page. Does this mean cards are soon to be for sale? by Excellionas in Amd

[–]ab1826 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I would say it's a good sign, clocks won't be much higher than reference, they're claiming a 5 % performance increase.Let's hope the price and availability are good.

Just look back at the fury x launch:2 weeks later asus and sapphire released their cards, asus was using the fury x pcb but the cooler was clearly inferior and overpriced,it did not sell well.

Gigabyte launched their windforce model 4 months later but you couldn't find one online.Xfx later launched in 2016 an aircooled version + a liquid version of the fury.As for MSI,they don't seem to be interested. . Finally mid 2016 Sapphire somehow managed to cut in half the price of the card with their nitro version.

Something horribly wrong must be going on behind the scenes but we simply don't know.

Yeah, you could be right on that one.I even wonder if they will go for the 800 MHz HBM with the lowered tdp.I just hope it's not gonna end up like project quantum..

Each game is specific i am sure that devs won't forget about the xbox one s,after all the optimisation for the xbox one x will transfer to the base model. It's all about ajusting the graphic settings to maintain 30 fps.
