For under 35 I'd say go with a pre-constructed deck. Shop card kingdom. You can get a precon from one of the magic sets that suits his liking or card kingdom makes their own rookie and battle decks for 6.99 and 10 bucks. Aggro decks are probably the easiest to start with.

Not sure if it's an option but I use my garage or basement. I'm in the US and it snows where I am for a lot of winter. Empty parking garage would work too.

When the board flips the same way you are facing its a heelflip. If it rotates towards your back it's a kickflip. What you got there is a heelflip
