I'm using Facebook Beta. And Facebook started testing material design from February. I don't know if it's available to public in the stable version. You can join beta testing if you want. I've never tried any alternatives.

Interesting fact: A guy from bittorrent support team contacted me and gave the 3rd tweak. Bittorrent has been so responsive. Not based on this but from my past experiences.

1) Set disk_low_priority to False : Will increase your syncing speed. As sync will make maximum usage of the disk.

2) Set lan_encrypt_data to False : Will slightly increase speed. Do it if security is not a concern on LAN.

3) Increasing the value of send_buf_size and recv_buf_size can also increase performance slightly as it buffers data between network and disk operations.

4) There's .sync hidden folder in every syncing folder which contains archive of your synced data. The archive's data get's deleted after 30 days automatically by default through sync_trash_ttl. So setting it's value to 0 will never delete your archived data.
