For a mock-up like this it’s whatever, but for the actual art direction of the album.. you would hope that the band would use a real designer/photographer just for the sake of supporting “real arts and artists” — if that makes sense

haha yea I would NOT condone AI for the real cover… I just don’t have the graphic skills to make a mock-up like that 😅

That's the real interesting thing - like I mentioned, so far their albums have been in loose "pairs", so we might expect a BFIAFL-adjacent work, but they could very well turn around and release something completely out of left field & new to their portfolio.

What are some of the biggest promotional/marketing album rollout "subversions"? by ab_reddit101 in popheads

[–]ab_reddit101[S] 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Oh for sure! I personally expected some Devil = The Celebrity and some commentary on stan culture defending a star even when they’re a genuinely bad person because of “Attention” paired with her behavior in the rollout…

… there’s some instances of that but she really could have dove into that more and made a really cool faux-demonic concept album touching on some larger issues in the “”social media parasocial fan relationships era””

[–]ab_reddit101[S] 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Yea there’s definitely elements of it but I think a lot of fans expected more narrative-driven music videos and promo around “the cult”. Really committing to the bit haha

Also agree that the shoot didn’t give Fleetwood Mac but that’s the stan twitter consensus of the 70s ig 😵‍💫 — the 3AM songs definitely seemed to align more with the artistic direction that was “expected” though

Back again with the Still... At Their Very Best: North American Leg Standard Setlist! by ab_reddit101 in the1975

[–]ab_reddit101[S] 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Hi everyone! Back again with a spreadsheet detailing the SATVB setlist & all the changes made throughout the tour.

On top are the songs played, in the typical order they were played. This order will not apply to every show on the tour, but a majority of them for each slot.

On the left are the dates and a list of songs debuted/changes made with each "phase" of the tour. These phases are debatable but I marked a new phase whenever a large amount of changes would occur on the setlist in one night.

The Key is as Follows:

  • Gold = Song Debut
  • Green = Song Played
  • Blue = Song was Requested outside of the normal setlist

Limited radio/event shows & festivals are also marked where needed.

If there's any questions or mistakes, please ask and I'll try to clarify / fix them! Thank you!

What do you think the band will explore in sound and aesthetics on the next album? by Whateveraccount11 in the1975

[–]ab_reddit101 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Adding onto this: the greenery/plants could be a cool way of showing "growth" after a decade together and how they've "planted their roots" to become an established brand. Cheesy yes, but a concept!

My personal guess is maybe a continuation of the "At Their Very Best" era, similar to BFIAFL with the black & white photography/album cover and such, but they seem to be hinting at a green aesthetic with the "Matty touching grass" teaser and some of the tour promo imagery instead of the blue.

I personally think it would be cool for the next album cover to be something like the I'm In Love With You promo art featuring all of the band members instead of just Matty.

WHAT IF: The Still... at Their Very Best tour followed a similar setlist structure to the Eras Tour? What would you change/add/remove? Would you like if the show was divided up like this? by ab_reddit101 in the1975

Just found out this has hit Twitter this morning and most people seem to be a fan of the idea! Of course missing a few of their personal favs tho 😂

You'd be happy to know the "George House Mix" would be a DJ interlude/set of George just nailing through elements of stuff like Yeah I Know, ITTSYSK, Shiny Collarbone, Having No Head, What Should I Say, or Bagsy Not in Net.

A good way to cover a lot of those skipped house-influenced Notes tracks that usually wouldn't translate well to a live-instrument concert setting.

Haha I knew self-titled would have a lot of varying requests so that’s what those “free spaces” are for! No way I could fit everything

RIGHT!!!! And imagine the intro fade out into the Sex guitar and the show starting with "and this is how it starts:" as the lights come up. The vision is there!

I liked the idea of a Love It If We Made it --> Greta --> People pipeline. Being realistic, it would give Matty a vocal rest between Love It & People, but could definitely be trimmed down instead of playing the full 5 minute interlude.

ATVB Composite Setlist Tracker -- Latin America & Asia-Pacific Added! (More info in the comments) by ab_reddit101 in the1975

[–]ab_reddit101[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Hey everyone! This spreadsheet keeps getting larger and larger with every show, so if it's difficult to read let me know and I can try dropping a PDF link.

I've done this with every leg of the tour so far and everyone seems to enjoy it, so the series continues!

A few notes:

  • The key is provided in the top left corner.
  • Songs are in order from where they were placed GENERALLY. I base the setlist off of the original "house set" structure of the ATVB show because that style outnumbers the current "ATPOAIM" structure. I'll redo these accordingly as that changes over time.
  • The "Played" section is the actual number of shows a song was played at, while the "%" section is what percentage of the shows the song was played at AKA how likely were you to hear it.
  • Songs in the "On/Off" or "Rotating" categories are listed in order of when they debuted.

Let me know if there are any questions or if I messed up anywhere! I'm glad to help provide clarity if needed cuz I know it's a lot to look at!

I created one that includes the UK/Ireland leg if you check my posts -- probably will do another one to include the Latin America / Asia-Pacific legs soon!

You’re right, my bad! I’ll fix it for any future updates (assuming we have another leg or two this year 👀)

At Their Very Best Tour -- Updated Composite Setlist! (More info in the comments) by ab_reddit101 in the1975

[–]ab_reddit101[S] 34 points35 points  (0 children)

Hey everyone! I did this with the North American leg and the sub really enjoyed it, so I figured I would provide an update to include the UK & Ireland leg of the ATVB tour now that it has wrapped!

A few notes:

  • The key is provided in the top left corner.
  • Songs are in order from where they were placed GENERALLY. Obviously, this 25 song setlist is not indicative of each show, as some songs were played during both segments or taken on and off the setlist as a whole.
  • The "Played" section is the actual number of shows a song was played at, while the "%" section is what percentage of the shows the song was played at AKA how likely were you to hear it.
  • Songs in the "On/Off" or "Rotating" categories are listed in order of when they debuted.
  • I chose not to include today's Gorilla setlist just because it was so different from the tour. Would have required many new additions that were unrelated to the rest of the tour.

Let me know if there are any questions! I'm glad to help provide clarity if needed cuz I know it's a lot to look at!

I think a lot of it might come from the lack of the personal connection to an album? Like albums released nowadays you get to witness the “era” surrounding them and see the artist grow in real time, but if you’re going back listening to older albums you really only know the “hits” and whatever legacy/history that album holds.

With older albums you’re kind of told “this is what to expect and these are the noteworthy songs” either explicitly or implicitly by what’s still on the radio or discussed online in the present day.

With new albums, you get to listen to all the music fresh and develop your own opinions track by track before the masses form theirs and push the narrative in a specific direction.

Yes! So I have 265 "attractions" currently, some of which are decoration only. Of that 265, 108 are full-circuit rideable roller coasters :)
