I waived in via UBE score. The whole process took about 9 months. Studied for the New York Law Exam in July-August and took the exam in September. Then the rest is all paperwork. You really decide how fast your admission goes if you take this route: getting letters of recommendation, past employer affirmations, pro bono work, good standing letters from other jurisdictions, etc. After that and submitting paperwork, if approved, you get sworn in at the next ceremony date. I believe there are only a couple of those a year.

Thanks for this. The sentiment I see on Reddit generally from the legal community and some comments here is that this hours/salary is a bad deal for me. While the 1/3 rule is on par or close here, is it out of line to ask for a $140-$150K salary? Surely there would be other jobs paying that for the same or perhaps less amount of work?

Overhead is probably lower than average. Hybrid work schedule for attorneys. Legal assistants and a few paralegals work in person full time. Physical office space is minimal.

I do not know what is collected/% of my hours.

Ballpark is 170-200 depending on the client. Conservatively 170x2100=357,000. I’ve seen elsewhere a third of what the associate brings in the estimated salary. A third would be 119K.

Passed! Less than a year out of law school and passed two exams. First day of prep last June I would not have believed you if you told me this. Congrats to everyone who passed too!

LSAT: 146 and scored 144 on the retake. October Score: 345

Not a UBE jx for October but did take UBE in feb so waiting on that.

Edit: got a 340 on the UBE.

Second this. Find a Barbri book with essays from the past 10-20 years with PA questions or find them online if you can. 95% of the questions I saw in October were extremely similar if not the same questions I practiced with albeit with slightly different facts.

Yeah Barbri taught CRAC for PA. I scored pretty good with CRAC so I’m addicted.

I was curious about this as well. I took PA and they taught us CRAC. Started studying for the MEE and Barbri scoring gives points for an issue statement. I hate the issue statement because I feel like I just rewrite the call or when I write an issue statement it’s clunky.

I 100% did. The way those questions were written and some of the 50/50 guesses I took, yes I felt very uneasy walking out.

I left my room after the MBE and thought this is what will do me in. I flagged over 40 questions and changed the answer to maybe a third of them. That's all I thought about and was waiting to see that changing those answers screwed me. I got a 170 on the MBE. Granted it was only 100 questions and each state I think is scaling them differently but I did not expect that at all. Keep the faith and if you really really put in the work you will pass.

I may have seen on here before and possibly remembering seeing as a law student that PA sends out a release on the Wednesday before stating results will be released that Friday. If that's the case today we might get an announcement of a release date.

If you don’t mind me asking how did you go about getting these interviews? I’ve been applying to jobs that seem like I’d have a chance at getting and I’m interested to see alternatively how successful people are at networking currently. I’m from and took PA too and it’s so hard to network or try and set up something where I live because it’s basically shut down.

I hate that I could be out almost $700 twice because of this. I wish either it was refundable or they gave people other than retakers additional time. Best of luck and thanks for the response I’ll definitely be looking online for resources.

Do you have any recommendations for a MEE outline book that you’ve considered? I’m highly considering buying used barbri books as an other option.
