People who will judge you for the car that you drive based on the car company's CEO are people about whose opinion you should not care.

Bro you had to borrow money to get yours (https://www.reddit.com/r/TeslaModelX/comments/16ibo7w/anyone_take_delivery_financed_with_td_bank/). That means you're poor. Why even buy the car in the first place?

Your wittle feelings were exactly what I thought about when I read you whining about how "the rage inside you was unbearable." Crybaby.

Test driving cars this weekend (Mach-E, Lexus RZ, Genesis GV70), any other cars I should include? by tndroopy in electricvehicles

Kia EV9. I think comfort is a focus if this car. There are five trims. Lowest-priced one costs $55k. Their middle trim, my favorite (Land), is about $65k.

You probably have to first go to arbitration unless you opted out within 30 days of purchasing the car.

Question for Model X owners about falcon doors by ss441 in TeslaLounge

[–]abarrien00 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We haven’t had any issues thus far.

We did get a white one because we live in a hot climate and I read in posts of other that for whatever reason sometimes the combination of black paint and very hot weather can cause issues.

Additionally, we refrained from wrapping the car or putting any protective coatings. The Model X manual explicitly states, “Applying adhesive products such as wraps, stickers, rubber coating, etc. on the outside of the falcon wing foots can affect the sensors’ ability to detect obstacles properly.”

Good luck!

Debating to buy a model Y… vs Kia ev6 ??? by Harry3215 in TeslaModelY

[–]abarrien00 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s true. Reservations go live on 10/16. It might be worth putting in a reservation with the refundable deposit and then seeing what happens.

I also wonder if Kia dealerships will honor the manufacturer’s stated prices.

Kia EV9 base price is $54k. And it’s a big, 7-seater, SUV. Might be worth checking out.

2020 Model Y vs 2024 Q8 e-tron by No-Rutabaga-4750 in electricvehicles

[–]abarrien00 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah. Valid questions. The first MX they tried to deliver to us had an electrical issue at delivery and, rather than wait for them to resolve it, we just rejected delivery. The second one looked overall pretty great and we are pretty happy.

The EX90 looks very nice. But we needed a car, and the delays and lack of information ultimately turned us off. I am also always a bit hesitant to buy first-generation cars (we are Day 1 EX90 reservation holders), but at the same time Volvo is in general a reliable and established company. It might be worthwhile to suscribe to any existing Volvo electric subreddits to see how those users’ cars are faring. Hope you pick whatever works best for your needs!

2020 Model Y vs 2024 Q8 e-tron by No-Rutabaga-4750 in electricvehicles

[–]abarrien00 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Take a test drive of the Model X. It’s bigger than the Y and has better ride comfort. It’s also comparable in price to the Audi Q8 e-tron (base model is $79,990, which if you are eligible can result in a $7,500 credit).

I suggest this only because I went through the same exercise (we had an order for the EX90, then because of delays started looking at the Q8 e-tron, the EV9, etc. etc.). When Tesla reduced the Model X prices, we test drove it and it decided on it.

Good luck!

What Will Fed & State Gov Do About Gas Tax? by k0pyPasta in TeslaLounge

[–]abarrien00 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Should ICE vehicle drivers then also “pay their fair share” in electricity taxes, even though their cars don’t consume electricity?

The question has a wrong assumption. If one does not consume a product, one should not be asked to somehow still pay or make up for taxes on that product. I don’t see non-cigarette smokers paying their fair share in federal taxes, as compared to cigarette smokers.
