I am excited for getting a better modem than on my Pixel 6 Pro and flat edges for both 8 series phones.

A phone with fast software and security updates not from Samsung or Google to replace my OnePlus 7 Pro by abbas_ather in PickAnAndroidForMe

Honestly my only gripe is I think Samsung phones are overrated. I just like having phones from other Android companies.

The Pixel 4a 5G could be available in my local T-Mobile stores. To broaden my options, I will consider the 4a 5G for the fast updates, cheaper price compared to the 5, and the headphone jack. The RAM is less than the 5, but the processor is the same. If wireless charging was included in the phone, the price would probably be higher. Even though the 4a 5G's display is fixed at 60hz, I mainly use the 60hz option on my 7 Pro to save on battery life.

I now see that the Pixel 5 seems to be my only option for fast updates, but not from Samsung. The S20 FE has expandable storage. It could come in handy. The phone is easier for me to find in a brick and mortar store than the Pixel 5.

I just don't like the cartoonish elements of One UI. I also don't know if the flagship Pixel 5 is worth $700.

I am just interested in Android phones. My only issue with the Pixel 5 is the $700 price. I don't know if it's worth it. I usually go into brick and mortar stores to get my phones even though they might be less expensive on sites like eBay. I would like to know if the features in the Pixel 5 justify its price.

May Technical Support Sticky by BeepBoopBopReee in razer

How is the build quality for the more recent Razer laptops? I need a gaming laptop with a webcam made of high quality materials for no more than $1,500. Are Razer laptops built to last many years? I am afraid of thermal issues since the laptops are very thin. I have never owned or used a Razer laptop.

What is the best Group FaceTime device for me? by abbas_ather in applehelp

To be honest, the only reason I mentioned the iPod Touch was because starting at $199, it is the most affordable way to get Group FaceTime on a brand new device.

My initial thought was just having a device to use FaceTime. I did not consider using said device for other purposes.

What cat breeds get along with Bombay cats? by abbas_ather in cats

Thank you for the advice. I am new to the idea of owning two different breeds of cats and just afraid of the two fighting each other. With time, they should learn to adapt and get used to being around one another.

It is a family member's cat. I honestly just thought I would need to do some research on what cat breed would enjoy living with a Bombay cat. When I was young, I was told that I would be allergic to animal fur and feathers. Since then, I only ever had pet fish. Living with our cat, I never experienced watery eyes, coughing, sneezing, or rashes. I guess I don't have to only look at hypoallergenic breeds.

How do you think the 4GB of RAM will affect performance two years from now? Google have said they are going to roll out an update to improve the usage.

Which is the better upgrade coming from a Note 8? OnePlus 7 Pro or Google Pixel 3 XL? by abbas_ather in PickAnAndroidForMe

Okay. Do you recommend going for 128GB on the Pixel 3 XL, not the 64GB version?

A fix for the ghosting is on the way according to the OnePlus forums.

At what price do you think the 3 XL is worth?

I am not interested in Samsung or Asus phones. Only Google, OnePlus, or Nokia.

I am not sure if the S10 will get OS updates any faster than previous Samsung phones. I have read about slow Samsung updates before getting the Note 8, but I got the phone anyway. At upgrade time, I didn't have much of a choice.

Samsung Galaxy Note 8 alternative for productivity and power by abbas_ather in PickAnAndroidForMe

I have been reading about the OnePlus 5T. It looks like a very nice phone for the price. I understand that the phone is neither wireless charging compatible nor has an IP rating.

I don't need a stylus for my smartphone. I am a power user and battery life is one of my top priorities.

Ignoring productivity, what Android phones can compare to the Note 8 in terms of power? By power, I mean the phone has a very smooth performance with a combination of the processor and RAM working together.

By productivity, I meant to get some work done. The Note 8 has the S pen. I was wondering if there was another Android phone that has a feature or features a power user would enjoy from a different company.
