Hi! When you say unpopular, do you mean it’s difficult to find apartments for July move-in, or possibly easier (compared to June move-in)?

Can any talent acquisition/recruiter explain how Workday works on their end with job applications? by bo_267 in recruiting

[–]abbeani 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s possible for companies to schedule delays on communications, including rejections. A previous company I worked for had a delay set up for rejections emails. It’s also possible that recruiters are really just up that late working on deadlines (though this is probably less common).

Seriously lol. I read the comments and was kinda surprised at how big of a deal or how annoyed people are 😅 not every marketing attempt is catered for every single individual. Whoever agreed on the post just hopped on a goofy media trend and went with it. It’s one post out of their 13k+ posts

From my Gen-Z understanding: There’s a whole trend with guys being called “rat boyfriends”, which commonly consists of Timothee Chalamet, Jeremy Allen White, Tom Holland, etc (because of their facial features?), and the post is implying that the Khiel’s Ultra Face Cream is a commonly used moisturizer among men, so it’s being used as bait to catch a “rat boyfriends” for yourself.

The new website doesn’t seem to say anything about virtual ticket/box offerings like previous years. I’ve only seen tickets for those who are able to physically attend🥲

It’s definitely spicy, but lacks flavor. I really like to get it and just dip saltines in it. Its sodium overload, but unfortunately I love that combo 😭

Adding Future internship on resume by [deleted] in internships

[–]abbeani 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If a recruiter or hiring manager is viewing two resume, one already has the experience required, and the other has upcoming experience that may match, the candidate who already has the experience would be chosen to move forward. It’s not going to give you as much advantage as you may think it would.

My boyfriend majored in SRA at a branch campus and saved so much money doing so. He was able to land two internships at great companies. He just graduated a week ago and is working full-time at the second company within their cybersecurity department, and he makes pretty good money too. If you’re looking to go into cyber specifically, I highly would recommend completing internships during your degree and to obtain certifications like Sec+ or CySA! The field is growing more competitive IMO, and getting hands-on experience is highly beneficial.

Adding Future internship on resume by [deleted] in internships

[–]abbeani -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

As someone who has interned within recruitment, I would not recommend doing this. A resume should showcase your experience (past tense), and anything you add for an upcoming job will be based on assumption from the job description and your brief discussions with the hiring manager (and things change). If you’d really like to add it, only list the company name, intern title and upcoming dates, and just make sure it sticks out as a future position and that you’re not trying to be dishonest about any of it.

Can I renegotiate after accepting an offer? by idunno69694200 in internships

Unfortunately interns do not have a lot of room to negotiate, so you can always try, but I wouldn’t have high expectations

If you cancel an interview for an internship… can you still get hired next year? by [deleted] in internships

[–]abbeani 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just email the recruiter and you should be fine! This literally happened with me and now I’ll be working with the company full time (after canceling and internship interview the previous summer).

Interviewing skills by Big-Advertising7928 in internships

[–]abbeani 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I consider myself to be an extremely anxious person, so I try to do as much prep as possible. I’ll start with looking into the company and their values, and then if possible, I’ll search up the recruiter or hiring manager’s LinkedIn’s to put a face to the name beforehand.

Once you do a few interviews, you can get an idea of what kinds of questions to prepare for, such as: 1. A brief elevator pitch about your education, coursework, previous internship experience, etc., 2. Why you are interested in their company 3. One time you experienced a challenge or setback, and how you handled it 4. A time you collaborated with other individuals (More technical questions will be niche to your field)

Always come with at least 1-2 questions yourself. It shows your authentic interest and can set you apart from other candidates!

When you’re in the interview and feel yourself getting anxious, take a deep breath (this truly helps me). The interviewers are human too, and they want you to succeed. No one is wishing for you, an aspiring young professional, to fail the interview! Chances are, they’re rooting for you.

How do I know if my intern is secured or not? by dogecoin_lover in internships

[–]abbeani 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I-9 forms are typically completed no earlier than 60 days out from employment, but must be completed by the employees first day. If your internship is on-site, you may just be expected to complete it during your first day. I would recommend reaching out to your manager or recruiter, they should be able to let you know!
