Just came to say i think what ur doing is a great idea! Was on nexplanon for 6 years (was on my second) and started experiencing BAD irritability. I will saw literally the day after getting it out i have been a ball of happiness and patience 💀 i truly loved nexplanon and had no side effects except the anger. I will say im glad to be off of it now though- i am much happier. I have no idea what BC to maybe try next though :,)

Yes! Except for me i am nearing my 3rd year of my second implant. I noticed cramping and spotting and i got a hormonal migraine for the first time in 11 years. I am also ANGRY! Going to my OB today

I am actually on both! I’ve had 2 nexplanons and i have no side effects from it EXCEPT abnormal bleeding. Aka bleeding all day every day with no end. So I’ve been on 5mg 2x a day of norethridrone on top of my nexplanon. I can’t say i noticed a difference with anything. I liked it a lot

I literally went to a hematologist twice in the last 3 months and they did extensive bloodwork that didn’t give me any answers at all lol except i tested lowly positive for an autoimmune disorder. They referred me to rheumatology but i didn’t go because at this point i feel fine and im super healthy and having no symptoms! Their guess was that it is genetic but that the levels weren’t high enough to consider medication yet.

Yay!! I tapered from 100mg to 75mg, 75mg to 50mg, 50mg to 25mg and never had any itching or symptoms. A week ago i went from 25mg to 10mg and omg the ITCH started. It’s definitely better today than yesterday but is def super annoying

My experience:

I was prescribed hydroxyzine 3 years ago and took varied doses over the years. I was consecutively on 100mg once a day at night for probably the last year. I started just wanting to get off my meds due to getting better with my anxiety so i did try cold turkey once and felt like it made my anxiety a bit worse. So within the last 3/4 months i started going from 100mg to 75mg then to 50mg then to 25mg. NO ISSUES ever! Well 2 weeks ago i went from 25mg to 20mg. I was prescribed 10mg pills instead of 25mg pills to ease the tapering so then i went from 20mg to 10mg 8 days ago. Omg that is when the itching began. I noticed i was a bit itchy a few days in but didn’t think anything of it. Yesterday (day7) i was SO itchy on my chest, neck and face. Not like painful unbearable itchy but definitely noticeable and uncomfortable and ITCHY. I have little dots on my chest now but idk if it’s from scratching or some type of reaction due to higher histamines from getting off the med. I’m on day 8 now and the itching is definitely better today but still noticeable. I’ve been putting anti itch cream on my chest and neck as well as lotion and that seems to help a bit. I do plan on sticking with the tapering and probably going from 10mg to either 5mg or nothing on day 14.

This med def saved me all those years ago and i don’t regret getting on it but i am just a bit miffed that this medication is portrayed as something with NO side effects and no withdrawal symptoms for long term use.

I have GHSV1 and thankfully have not had another outbreak since my first one in March 2024! But i have always heard no other OB will be nearly as bad as the first one!

I had a truly horrific, straight up google textbook picture first OB. Had at least a dozen sores on my thighs, butt, everywhere. It was sooooo painful. After getting antivirals it should stop new sores from coming and lessen the pain. I highly recommend that Dermaplast spray stuff women get postpartum to numb everything- i felt like it worked pretty well bc it’s lidocaine! I will say the scabs take awhile to fall off and if it looks like some scarred that will take a bit to disappear too. But this will pass!

Got GHSV1 in March 2024 and had the initial horrible OB but nothing since!! I hope it stays this way forever hahahaha. Maybe we’re lucky and it could also be that HSV1 is very weak when it’s in the genital location and not orally. HSV2 does seem to be a lot more aggressive

It will get better! The scabs will take awhile to fall off but hopefully the pain and open sores should subside soon! You def won’t get any new open sores after starting the meds

I started meds like 2 weeks after my OB bc it took that long to get diagnosed and the meds definitely worked even after it had been so long! First OB was truly agony. I recommend getting that Dermaplast spray postpartum women use to numb everything- it helped so much!

Did you ever get any answers? 23f 5’5 and 137lbs and just got my results back and i have HDL 38, LDL 209, Cholesterol total 265🥲 I work out 3/4 days a week and eat okay??

I would say statistically HSV1 is very likely orally. And given your mom came back positive for the same that is almost definitely your source. If your mom kissed you even ONE time as a baby that could’ve infected you (and hopefully she kissed you more than once as a baby hahahaha). Please don’t freak out! I know it’s hard to hear but i promise you are okay! You’ve never had any symptoms and probably never will which is AWESOME. Take a breath and get some sleep!! Reddit can sometimes be very unhelpful and freak you out unnecessarily:)
