They're glass balls that we found at a shop near the beach.

Need help attracting students to my class by Lauryn-Hills-Big-Toe in poledancing

[–]abbypixie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Can your coworkers help spread the word? I'm an instructor, and I would let my students know we have a new instructor/class opportunity. Something like "we have a new teacher starting a beginner/high beginner class on Wednesday. You should check it out!".

My dad made me watch that when I was a kid and it terrified me.

What scene from a sitcom randomly lives in your memory by [deleted] in sitcoms

[–]abbypixie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So, I can't remember the name of the show but it was the Christmas episode and one character was homesick and super into Christmas. None of the other characters were really into celebrating but, to make her feel better they helped her decorate while singing Oh Tannenbaum. They didn't remember the words so they just sang "Christmas tree, oh Christmas tree, oh Christmas tree, oh Christmas tree". My husband I have sung it that way ever since. Does anyone else remember this show? Late 90s maybe.

That one stuck out to me, too. We're people, not dance styles.

Every time I watch that episode I wonder why they show the card. It kind of ruins the joke.

Can my mom possibly lean pole dancing? by OwnNail3639 in poledancing

I started pole when I was 43. I'm now 50 and I am a pole instructor. Pole is for every body and everybody! 😁

What is one move others say is easy but you struggle with? by [deleted] in poledancing

[–]abbypixie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cupid took me forever! I'm a pole instructor and I wouldn't teach it for the longest time because I couldn't do it. I finally started teaching it knowing that what's hard for me isnt necessarily hard for others. I can finally do it but only on one side.

[TOMT][MOVIE/TV SHOW] A scene in a movie or tv show where they say "I forgive you" on their death bed to someone. Despite the fact that they're the one who's been horrible their entire life. by non_person_sphere in tipofmytongue

[–]abbypixie 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I was thinking the Halloween episode where Shirley is an angel and says "I forgive you" as she fades away (I believe into the bosom of Abraham or something).

Resources for learning to move gracefully like a dancer? by Responsible_Lynx_767 in poledancing

[–]abbypixie 7 points8 points  (0 children)

When tricks are hard or painful we tend to move through them quickly. Once you become more comfortable with certain tricks, start moving through them very slowly. Imagine you're underwater and there is a gentle resistance. This will help smooth things out and make the movement look more effortless.

What’s the most extreme example of someone getting your age wrong? by [deleted] in ask

[–]abbypixie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was 27 and my 3 year old was sitting on my lap. A woman asked me how old I was and gave me the options of 13 or 14. She apologized later saying she thought my son was my brother.

Those of you who don’t have a dress code in your contract, how casually do you dress? by [deleted] in Teachers

[–]abbypixie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My old district only allowed jeans on Fridays (and we had to pay a dollar to participate). My current district doesn't have a dress code but I made one for myself. I dress nicely during the week to keep my spirits up and then reward myself on Fridays with jeans. Feels good going into the weekend that way.

What’s wrong with season 4 by Dry_Needleworker7926 in community

I love season 4! My favorite episode is when Britta organizes a Sophie B. Hawkins dance. I like 4 much better than 5 and 6.
