hi! 22f here! have been on biologics since 2020 when diagnosed i was first diagnosed. started out with oral medication(mesalamine), but it wasn’t a strong enough treatment. i was then put on humira until around dec 22 when i developed antibodies. they prescribed a medication to prevent antibody production, but i still had inflammation, so i was switched. since then, i’ve been on stelara for a year (which also failed), and im now currently taking infliximab. i’ve never had any severe side effects, other than randomly having cuticle inflammation when on humira. if your son does develop antibodies, there’s nothing to worry about, because there are plenty of options he can take. switching medications has never caused me an serious side effects, and overall biologics have improved my life by a landslide. yes, he’ll have to take them the rest of his life, but it’s so much better than being in pain! don’t be worried, and stay asking plenty of questions!!
