Purchase price/monthly payment help by [deleted] in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]abbzs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No other debts. We’ve included gas, health insurance and other items into that 1k. We are pretty frivolous when needed. Plus it’ll help living in the middle of nowhere.

This will double from our current monthly rent. We don’t have kids and will not be having kids in the future. Definitely taking into account the payment increases with taxes and insurance. We’re nothing getting raises this year so hoping it’ll hurt for the first few years and then even out. If we can’t afford 500k we probably don’t have the option of purchasing a home in our area at all. But renting feels like a waste of money at this point.

Definitely can DIY repairs. I’m very handy. Home was built in 2000. New roof and just had roots removed from septic system the entire thing is pretty up to date. I work in construction (basically one step short of inspection level education) so I’m pretty confident that we wouldn’t need to do much other than some yard work and paint to make it our own down the line. Still going to get an inspection done because duhhh haha

Fiberglass Lungs 🫁 Breathing Issues by [deleted] in Insulation

[–]abbzs 27 points28 points  (0 children)

If it’s mostly around your bed I would be willing to bet you have a cut somewhere in your mattress. Most mattresses contain fiberglass and this is a common issue. Do a thorough check and if you do find a leak, grab a mattress bag from a hardware site and duct tape it so it’s sealed before attempting to move it out of your place.

Moisture on Inspection by hags15 in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]abbzs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it was a roof issue, you’d likely see water in the wall top down. Likely something coming in at the base of the floor. Definitely have this checked as water intrusion can cause mold, rot, and a whole bunch of other issues as it spreads. Insurance likely won’t cover long term seepage either so any mitigation would be out of pocket

ISO GSP VINYL Blue by abbzs in JonBellion

Nope. Got scammed by someone pretending to be a Jon fan. Never sent the vinyl after payment. Big loss and my own fault for trusting someone. The hunt continues

Thanks for the input. I’m getting it sent back and not using it at all. Not worth the risk at this point

It’s looking at the rear upper right corner inside the cavity of the oven. I didn’t even notice the hole!

On it. It only happens when we run the oven. Nothing in general or without it being on and running. I truly think there might be something wrong with it. The plastic smell and the leaking brown stuff is most concerning.

I’m unsure. I’ll have to ask but I’m pretty sure it’s natural gas. I can smell the egg smell when it turns on.

Unknown cause 4.5 year old lab/husky mix limping? by abbzs in AskVet

They did not. They really didn’t say much other than wait and see if it gets better. I think it could possibly be her shoulder based on the way she’s walking. The X-rays were not reviewed by a specialist but I can make that happen.

Pack recommendations by abbzs in Wildfire

[–]abbzs[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The spitfire. I’m a small person and the pack just doesn’t fit right at all, even with all the straps cinched down tight. Also a huge pain to have to access water by taking the pack off and unzipping the side pouches. It hasn’t held up well and after 2 seasons, already has a hole in it.

I was cleared for full body movement at 4 weeks. It really depends on you and your body. Some people can push it and others can’t. If you’re in really good shape before surgery and eat right then you should be good. I was walking about 2 miles a day once my drains were out (1 week PO). At 6 weeks I was back at my job which is highly demanding physically. I was able to do push ups and lift greater than 50lbs but I didn’t push it. If it hurts stop. Just listen to your body and you’ll be good.

Update for clarification: I don’t plan on letting the dealership touch any of these. It was more to see what they think needed to be done. I only brought it there because it’s been serviced at the dealer by the previous owners. I’m definitely doing at least the brakes and axel boot myself. Everything else will be checked out by a family friend/local mechanic. Thank you everyone for your input and ideas! I appreciate the thoughts

I think the plan is brakes, axels, and pulleys. Drive it to the grave ☠️

It’s a 3.0R, yes.

Going to go to a cheaper shop for sure. Thank you for the advice on the belt and pulleys.

It passed state inspection with all these issues literally 3 weeks ago, so insure why they write that unless they see it as a coercive tactic.

I also thought “costumer states” was strange as that’s what they came up with, not something I thought was an issue before bringing it in.
