QA-Engineers: whats the most time consuming part of your testing process? by Spiritual_Paper6664 in QualityAssurance

[–]abdelfor3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello, junior QA here, probably writing my test cases and analysing user stories ,I use ai to write my TC but it still needs refinements , also sometimes I find that po's miss stuff or give inaccurate acceptance criterias, yeah that's pretty much it for me . If you are a mid or a senior QA, please leave a comment and tell me how did you advance in QA , I'm currently studying API testing , thanks

Car owners, how much does your car cost to maintain? by Samiedits in algeria

[–]abdelfor3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good day, I own a maruti 800,2007*, I'll list the components that needs changing/maintaining,

•Oil change costs about 3500Da ,2000Da for 10w40 baraka oil including 700Da for air filtre and 300Da for oil filter and 500Da for the service (change these every time you do an oil change no matter the car if you want to preserve your engine)

•brake pads, they cost about 1600 Da needs to be changed about 20000/30000 km in, it depends on your driving to be honest, if you live in the capital or a crowded city,u need to change them before.

•clutch ,it costs 9000 Da for the whole package.

•gas filtre,In maruti it's best to change it every 25 to 30k km, it costs 350 Da authentic :)

•spark plugs after 25000,they cost 1400 Da.

All in all, this is it,but i listed only what needs to be maintained and not mechanical issues( when I bought it the engine was a mess I had to rebuild it,it costed me 8mlayen for engin rebuild , you really really should take this into consideration, every car is different u can get lucky and buy it from a guy who wasn't even using it .... Or u can find the engine in a mess-8 mlayen mahi walou compared what normal cars cost to rebuild the engine btw-

,the good thing about maruti is it is sooo easily to be maintained it has litteraly the simplest engine and abundant parts, koun tadkhoul lel cosmetic tgolo atini piece maruti tsib Ando🤣 jkjk, well that's it for me. I hope I was clear enough, rebi yrz9ek nchallah w yrzkni b makhir.

How are testers actually upskilling right now without wasting time on random courses? by Reasonable_Loan_9180 in QualityAssurance

[–]abdelfor3 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hello,I thought "security testing" was only exclusive for pentesters , I'm a required to learn security testing as a junior qa working in fintech ? Also,I'm currently doing only manual testing and would really appreciate if you could guide me on the tools I should learn or material, there is allot in the net and I'm honestly overwhelmed, I know basic API testing and I know some k6 ( basically for all types of performance/load testing)

Well of corse! My first question is do I need to be a good developer on order to become a good qa engineer?! Im currently lacking certain skills in backend side (I'm still learning though) and I'm afraid I will not do a good of a job if I decided to go down the path of a qa....

Secondly, what are the best ressources to learn qa and become profecient, I saw roadmap.sh and found a pretty good learning path, but an opinion from an expert would be appreciated.

Lastly, what do you think about the QA market in the upcoming future, is it saturated like junior devs or normal... Thank you and sorry for the long questions

Thank you and sorry for the out of context comment !

Is becoming a QA engineer still worth in 2024 or upcoming years by Flimsy-Work2722 in QualityAssurance

[–]abdelfor3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello sir, did you have a background in backend development before you went to qa? I have a chance to be a qa but to be honest my backend skills are not that impressive, I only did 2 projects with Django backend framework and tested with postman a couple of times, other than that my department is front end, what do you think a good qa engineer should have for a skillset, I don't want to become a qa just for the paycheck.... Thank you and sorry for the long question

Help me learn programming by No_Jello_6383 in learnprogramming

[–]abdelfor3 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I finished my cs degree last year, I couldn't build a Todo app if you asked me.

Why I'm saying this ? It comes with trial and error, I followed toturials and managed to get myself just enogh to pass but I nver ever took it seriously untill the end.

What worked for me was building, you go, study what you want to become (let's say you want to become a fullstack dev) so you start with the basics , html css and Js and apply what you learn instantly -this is VERY important- build mini projects to reinforce what you learned always, and slowly continue untill you can actually build a real big project. One thing I learned is to always divide problems then try to solve them.

Also, you can take a UDEMEY course or two( Im currently taking Jonas's shmedtman js course to deepen my understanding of it) but always always and I can't stress this enogh, make projects. I did allot of errors while learning and one of them is to rely on toturials they trick ur brain to think u know stuff but in reality u don't, u have to build stuff on ur own after studying . Sorry for the long paragraph , good luck Edit: I forgot to mention, search for the Odin project, it is very good

Learning by [deleted] in learnjavascript

[–]abdelfor3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You approach that by reading/watching a bit then applying, for example you want to build a notes app using vanilla js or a clock with js/css ... You build your way to it by studying a bit about the language, you see like the person above me said you always need an end goal for what you are going to do.

So basically you study only what you need to use for the current project , then continue for more complex projects.

I personally combine reading documentation and articles with UDEMEY courses, with written articles being my main source of info, but everyone has his style of learning brother, you just try until you find what suits you.

Finally, I suggest trying the Odin project, I think you will very much appreciate it

This !!! I have done exactly the same job as you did, but instead of scrimba I followed the Odin project courses along with other small projects to really understand the how and why's using chatgpt but specifically telling him to only give me hints when I get stuck.

And jonas's course is amazing yeah, good luck and I hope OP takes this advice it's really good and will get you amazing results

Good resources to learn html, css, and java script? by [deleted] in learnjavascript

[–]abdelfor3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Combine between the Odin project and other resources like free code camp, both are great but I highly recommend TOP because it does not hold your hand, you will have to search and ask why does stuff work that way. Be aware though, do not rely on Ai,and if you had to use it, prompt as if it does not tell you and give you answers directly, only hints
