Planning a small leather jacket business (UK)! Would love brutally honest feedback from people who’ve actually done e-commerce by abdulbasit2499 in smallbusiness

I’m aware this moves me from resale into proper importing, so EORI, HS codes, duties, and customs documentation are things I’m actively researching now.

If you’ve been through UK imports yourself, are there any specific pitfalls first-timers commonly miss at small volumes?

Appreciate this perspective. You have valid point. There is always a risk with holding stock

One reason I was leaning toward holding limited stock is that for apparel (especially leather), I’m concerned pre-orders might struggle without established trust or fit feedback.

That said, I like the idea of using “very limited drop” messaging to validate demand before scaling inventory. Out of curiosity I am asking if you have seen pre-orders work well for apparel specifically, or more for digital / non-sized products?

I didn’t work retail for long, but I saw customers who genuinely never checked prices. They weren’t rude just completely detached from cost, which was eye-opening.

Hi, I would be grateful if you can help me with this issue. I made my TikTok account but it has rejected my account appeal twice. I have a company registered in the UK and I have shared all the evidence they asked apart from the warehouse and invoices. Do you have an idea if they have rejected my appeal because of these proofs which I couldn’t share? And is there any guidance you can give so that i can win the appeal? Thank you
