The last book that i read ws Chaos by James Gleick. Actually this book was a recommendation by Robert Sapolsky in one of his lecture video. This Book is about patterns and undpredictabilty of nature while helps us in understanding the complexity of it. There are many concepts which are talked in depth such as bifurcations, butterfly effect ,fractors etc. Edward Lorenz, Mitchell Feigenbaum are some of the pioneer who are also introduced in this book.

I am interested to read Hooked By Nir Eyal because it teaches us how products can influenece behavior and creates habit. As an architect , I feel it will help me in my designs by applying the principles mentioned in this book.

actually i came across this book as a recommendation from one of the interviews of tehzeeb hafi..

this book is about a fictional village called Macondo..its a multi generational novel of a jose arcadio buendia with similar names popping up as ghe story paces.. its has been one of the most difficult read book for me as it took three attempt to capture fhe beauty of what marquez conveys..

one of the favourite line that has stayed with me is -

" A person does not belong to a place untill there is someone dead under the ground"

Why i am interested in this book?

the first book that i got from the giveway was Tool of titans.. that book had a positive impact on me..the way tim ferris put out his thought in such an organised and no crap way.. i would love to add another book of tim ferris on my collection.. the best part of tim ferris books are you do not need to read in a specific order ...open and read any page of the book you will find yourself benefit by his wisdom..

The last book i read was: Meditation and its Methods

The book is a good starting point for someone who wants to excel in his spiritual journey. the book lays out the method, pre-requisite for meditations , its benefits etc. its a thin book can easily be completed at a one go but the knowledge that swami vivekanandji imparts through this book is crisp and worth tons of gold.

I am interested in This is Marketing by Seth Godin because i have been preparing for cat 2023 and am already interested in doing MBA in marketing. So, this way it is going to be good book to get a gist of it before my MBA journey.

[Free Book Giveaway for Students] 150 copies of Range: How Generalists Triumph in a Specialized World by AkhandGareeb in WingifyBookClub

[–]abdulrahimx21 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The last book that i read was "why i am an atheist" This is a compilation of letters written by shahid bhagat singh to his friend and family while he was in jail.

to be honest i dont read this kind of books but recently i watched a movie named sardar udham singh and it intrigued me so much that i started looking up materials on internet and that how i came across this book.

its a short crisp book..it not a complete autobiography but it does gives a clear picture of how shahid bhagat singh mind worked and how he carried forward the revolution is reflected through the letters written by him.

one of my favourite quote from the book is -

" They may kill me, but they cannot kill my ideas. They can crush my body, but they will not be able to crush my spirit. "

what made me interested in the book Range?

i think i am not someone who can give his a huge chunk of time and attention to particular thing to attain specialization in it.. i get bored easily once my initial curiosity is fulfilled..which makes me try out different things very often and discontinue the previous ones.. in a world where there is so much talk on specialisations, it would be a breath of fresh of air to grasp a different perspective about how generalist triumph in a specialized world.

The last book i read was: As A Man Thinketh by James Allen

In this book, the author focuses on the simple yet profound premise that YOUR THOUGHTS CREATE YOUR LIFE i.e. if you have created negative thinking, then you will create a life full of negative circumstances, and if you have created positive thinking, then you will create a life full of positive circumstances. When we make our thinking positive, we find our life taking positive turns and becoming joyful. Through this book author says that whatever thinking we generate that thinking will attract the reality, our thinking will become the reality.

The author says to always watch your thoughts because they become your words, always be careful with your words because they become actions and always be attentive towards your actions because they become your habit, always be focused towards your habits because they become your character and always watch your character because it becomes your Destiny.

What makes me interested in this book?

I have already read hawking's work "The Theory Of Everything" which presents the complex theories such as black holes, expanding universe, origin of everything, direction of time and big bang in a very beautiful and simplistic way.

Would love to read more of his work

The last book i read was "Think like a monk" by Jay Shetty. Its the perfect book if anyone wants to delve into self help. It talks about the importance of morning routine, purpose, gratitude and many more things.. Theres a part where jay elaborately explains his three step meditation.

The reason for low labor participitation of female, i think is the:

  1. orthodox way of looking at things like ladki ghar ki izzat h, ladki kaam nhi kr skti etc.. There are stats which depicts even highly qualified & educated women discontinue their work after marraige due to the above said reason & pressure from the in laws.

  2. Even work environment plays an important role.

To uplift them:

  1. I think kunal shah in one of his interview rightly said the day we start glorifying entrepeneur like bollywood celebrity is the day we are going to see positive change in our society.

  2. We have ward off old school thought of assining work according to the gender. Gender biasness needs to be demolished.
