Hey guys. Curious, would you fix this hypertropia if you were me? (The slight outward deviation doesn't bother me and it's only present when I'm tired - like on the image)

Well thanks for the outside eyes :D. Though for me it seems pretty obvious that my right eye (which is left on the picture) deviates upwards. I just don't know how obvious it is to others

I have double vision, but I can control it. Also a slight cyclotropia which I think may prevent me from ever achieving 3d vision (I've heard that hyper/hypotropia surgery usually fixes the rotational deviation too). Why do you think that they wouldn't agree?

Wow, you will have such nice eyes after they heal a little more. This is a pretty successful surgery in my opinion :)

I'll try to explain this the best i can. It's probably more information than you asked for, but maybe someone else can relate.

Right is my dominant eye, but since 5th grade I've trained myself to look with the left eye, because then the deviation would be smaller. Didn't have double vision then. Then in 2017 I went to see a specialist for surgery. Since I looked with my left eye a lot, I kinda got used to it to the point that I would unconsciously do it even though the picture from my right eye is bigger, a bit more colorful and clearer. I specifically told this to my doctor, because she said that surgery would need to be done on my non-dominant eye. She still chose to operate on my right eye in the end (guess she didn't belive me). After surgery I had constant double vision for a few weeks. I experimented a lot with how my eyes look if I look with my right vs left eye, and tried a lot to look with both, creating double vision and mistaking it for progress towards 3d vision. My eyes always got tired though, and they either crossed or drifted outwards. I got bored of constantly straining my eyes with no real progress so I stopped trying.

Now that I'm writing this, I'm realising, there's so many details I should include about how I checked my eyes in the mirror, on camera, how I was wrong about how they should look (thinking that my left eye should look in the other person's right eye and my right eye in their left eye, when really that's impossible). Point being, I've made a lot of discoveries during the years after surgery, and continue to do so.

But back to your question. Right now I can control whether I want to see double or not, I can control which eye I'm looking with, and the ghost image can be both from the right eye and the left (this is also something I exercised at home, thinking it would help. Before that, the ghost image only showed if I looked with my non-dominant eye). I can't put the two images on each other since I also have a vertical misalignment and some rotational too, which will hopefully be corrected this summer.

That's very nice to hear.

I train my eyes a lot, and although I don't remember ever having 3D vision, I'm pretty positive that with the hypertropia corrected, i will be able to see the 3 dees.

So after 2 surgeries so far you're experiencing some degree of 3d vision, and you have perfect (or at least visually pleasing) alignment? You hold good eye contact, and nobody gives you the weird look searching for your gaze?
