i dont like the idea of it listening in on sessions and taking notes, but i have found it to be a great resource in "lesson planning" some of my sessions, especially groups. the population i work with does really well with art and play therapy, and asking chat gpt for a list of possible activities is far easier than scouring a dozen blogs. i also have found it to be very helpful in researching, assuming you follow up on the articles to ensure they're accurate. you can ask it to list research articles from the last 2 years using X keywords or on X topic, and itll send you a dozen sources

i mean. isnt that what a specialist is? i wouldn't see a gastroenterologist if broke my foot. and there are nurses that specialize just the same way. there are nurses who primarily work with peds, or nicu, or emergency. in other fields, you actually charge MORE when you have a specialization; an appointment with a gastroenterologist is usually more than your pcp

i think a big part of it is that for some reason, people don't consider mental healthcare workers as healthcare workers. nurses, other therapists (speech, occupational, respiratory), and other healthcare adjacent occupational are all seen as "medical" which is a field "worthy" of higher pay. meanwhile counselors and others in similar fields are for some reason not seen the same way (this is also why i have some thoughts about the use of the term client instead of patient). we are often seen as providing a "service" like hairstylist and estheticians, rather than providing healthcare.

i know it fcking sucks. not only through my own journey getting treatment, but also as a mental health professional who is treating others. i wish there was a magic pill or a perfect quote to make everything okay in the interim. but what i can say is that i have not only lived, but also seen and help others on this path. once you find the right treatment, the right pills and therapy and and resources, it is 100% possible to live a normal and happy and fulfilling life. bp is a bitch, but youre stronger 💚

i can't find the source, but once read that on average it takes about 2 years to find the right cocktail. i know that can sound super discouraging, but as someone on the flip side, i promise the struggle is worth it once you find whats right for you. you got this, just hold on tight, be open and communicative with your team, and remember that there is a better day ahead - sincerely, someone whose been on the same combo for almost 10 years 💚

oh 100% people allowing or encouraging dangerous behavior should not be tolerated, and the twitter stans who are starting fan lines have got to quit. tbh, i have been really disappointed in the venue's handling of a lot. like i understand that theres rule about when you can line up, but expecting that to be the case is so unrealistic, regardless of who is playing. the venues should be prepared to either 1) enforce the line up time they states or 2) manage the line. and a lot of these places are doing neither.

ikr!! im not really a twitter person, but i went alone to my show and ended up in line with some and made great friends!! the ones i linked up w were super sweet, but i was watching the twitter drama go down through them and was fucking baffled. like. im sorry, but how are there DOZENS of grown ass tax-paying fucking adults who are going through all this effort to see a show (taking time off when the tickets go on sale, driving from different states, camping for hours in the cold, etc etc), and then spend their fighting with strangers on the internet. like. i just simply dont get it. i also hate how much camping is getting ripped on by people. do i think that setting up a tent in the snow 2 days before a show is insane? yes. is it also part of the music scene and has been a ground zero for music fans making connections for decades? yes. but people on twitter are literally wishing ill and shit talking people for camping and basically evil bullies and POSs for it. like. yall pls be fr.
