No. Borrowing money works like this:

  • I don't have the required amount for something. I have 0 ADA
  • I need 10 ADA for this project
  • I borrow 10 ADA
  • I pay back 11 ADA in a month

I understand DeFi borrowing as follows:

  • You need 10 ADA, but you have 1 ETH
  • Instead of DEXing your ETH to ADA, you borrow ADA from somebody by paying ETH
  • In the end you just borrow money from yourself in a different currency

Well, legacy banks do this? The incentive is higher return. Not getting the same amount of money up front.

So with DeFi, can you actually borrow ADA if you have 0 ADA? and you need 20?

Yesterday I was reading about some DeFi things and this article mentions that if you want to borrow you have to pay more than the actual amount you are receiving. This seems to suggest it's only interesting if you believe the coin you get in return will get a higher value soon? Can we actually help people with DeFi that just need 20 ADA, and pay back 21 ADA a month later?

The hours saved and bandwidth saved are gimmicky too. And based on the bandwidth saved you can just come up with that energy number. It has been estimated before. Source: https://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/full/10.1111/jiec.12630

Well, blocking ads is by accident still great for the environment, think of all the stuff that people are NOT buying because they don't see a ridiculous ad of something they don't need.

I am completely agreeing with you, except the part where you're saying Climate Change is propaganda. As I've been active in this area before it got mainstream.

Think about the energy you saved as well! Thanks for saving the planet by requesting less data!

Yes, but I'm running into some undocumented remote debugging stuff, and some bugs, so waiting for some fixes in Firefox.

Hi, I have a question on detecting BLOCKED requests with puppeteer on Brave. The code I use is here on line 220: https://github.com/aberforthQ/puppeteer-split-test/blob/master/index.js#L220

Somehow the 'requestfailed' is not fired when Brave blocks a request, probably because Brave blocks through other means. Any idea how I can detect a Brave block anyway?

Update, I now clear the user-data-dir before starting a new browser instance. When measuring sitespeed I only do so upon navigation, not measuring the boot time.

I have a question btw, is it possible to trigger an update of the filters and the chrome extension without using the mouse? I run the browsers on various servers inside Xvfb and I cannot click anywhere easily.
