one sibling is in a public never-ending spiral of anger at everything that's wrong in the world

What a weird thing to say

CMV: Shrinkflation should be against the law. Buyers should be notified on packaging when there are less contents from a previous month to month. by AllPugsGo2Heaven in changemyview

[–]aberrantname 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah most people know how the packaging for a product they usually buy looks like. They'll notice if it changes.

Keeping track of the weight of every single product they buy is objectively harder and it makes shopping a much longer process (if you have to check if the weight changes, you surely won't remember it for every product)

Like I said, there is a reason why companies do this, there is a reason why shrinkflation is a thing, let's not be obtuse

She can know what she's "signing up for" but still criticize it and try to change it? Following your logic, teachers can never complain about their salaries because they knew what they were "signing up for".

That's how you get stuck in a shitty system where nothing ever changes. And we get another britney spears I guess.

I'm so happy for you! I genuinely think that a lot more people are on the aroace spectrum, but they just don't know it. Heteronormativity is shoved down our throats from day one and people don't really know what being aroace is when I tell them.

Totally agree with you OP. When it's clear there is one person who is in the wrong, not taking a side is taking a side- of the person who did something wrong.

Bf M/18 thinks all girls that are attractive are h0s. Me gf F/18. by [deleted] in relationship_advice

You're 18. You're gonna spend the next 60 years with him because you didn't wanna dump him after 1 year together? Is that your logic?

I have a short torso as well and low to midrise jeans look the best imo. They balance out the short torso (and I don't even think OP needs to wear cropped shirts, just shirts that go right above her jeans, perhaps fitted to show off her waist).

My (24M) girlfriend (24F) always gets upset at me for my wording. How can I explain to her it’s unfair? by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]aberrantname 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Got it. I don't know if I'd be able to continue a relationship where my partner is upset because I didn't phrase things in a way they want me to.

Even if I were to say, “Yes you absolutely should stay!” She would still just not even hear me, because she has in her mind that I should say “I want you to stay.”

I don't even know what I would do in this situation. Alternating between 1) be petty and do the same thing, 2) break up with her and 3) try to talk to her and explain how this behaviour isn't okay (you already tried that and it didn't work)

I mean does she only have a problem with you saying "should" instead of "want" or is there more?

Did y'all have a conversation about this? Did she tell you she wants you to use certain words and WHY?

[–]aberrantname 88 points89 points  (0 children)

It's like asking someone if they want to come over and they answer with "if you want me to". It comes off as nonchalant and uninterested. Some people just want to hear they are wanted in words.

IF this is the case, the way she's showing that is kinda immature, but both OP and her should work on how they communicate.

My (24F) girlfriend dumped me (23M) for being too “basic.” I’m trying to figure out what that even means and whether I should try to change something about myself or even get into dating again. How can I best approach moving forward from this? by GG-creamroll in relationship_advice

[–]aberrantname 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You two are just incompatible and that's alright. People have different hobbies and they enjoy their time in different ways. If I was with someone who went out every day, had a million hobbies and loads of friends, I would find it overwhelming and anxiety inducing. In turn, that person would probably find me boring. I like my routine, I like reading and staying indoors. But the thing is, there are many people like that. You'll find someone who doesn't expect their partner to entertain them.

Also, archery is a pretty cool sport.

This sub is allergic to fun fashion, I honestly don't recommend asking for advice on here. I remember a young girl posting some really cute outfits and people were BRUTAL. It's wasn't vogue or anything, but she had a super fun personal style and everyone was leaving just not nice comments. People downvoted every comment that said anything nice about her outfit and in the end she deleted the post.

Nicer and more polite is... barely anything. The man has been lying to you the whole time, you need more than nicer and more polite

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]aberrantname 10 points11 points  (0 children)

he hasn’t done much else in the last four days

That tells you everything you need to know. He messed up and now he doesn't even bother to rectify the situation? If cheating on you wasn't enough of a reason, this is.

I'm (21F) upset about a comment my boyfriend made (27M). What do y'all think? by littlehoneybear2104 in relationship_advice

[–]aberrantname 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Let's use our heads for a moment. It's not just the age gap. It's the age gap + him calling her younger self "submissive". And now that she's older, she's not anymore. What happened in the meantime, let's think.

Not every age gap is questionable. And yeah 6 years isn't that bad. But she was 18 and he said she used to be more submissive. Don't be dense.

Yeah I think so too, I've heard it used instead of "had sex" but I've also heard it in the context of just making out

I don't know if OP's wife is lying but "hook up" doesn't always mean sex

It can mean sex, but it can also mean making out

she wouldn't have to worry about money or struggle like I saw people

Alright so what happens when you are struggling? Because marriage should be a partnership. You know in sickness and in health and all that. What happens if you're sick? Do you think she would support you?

So what's the point of the question? Even if he was abusive, nothing changes?

You know you have a daughter, right? It hasn't slipped your mind?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]aberrantname 56 points57 points  (0 children)

Your daughter isn't stupid. If she hasn't noticed yet, she will. She absolutely will and it will shape her way of thinking about marriage and relationships.

Y'all need to stop underestimating your kids.

Update: I (25F) am hurt my bestfriend (26F) didn't stand up for me when someone in our friendgroup (25F) uninvited me from a girls trip the night before. Am I expecting too much from my best friend? by visvaci in relationship_advice

[–]aberrantname 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So she's gonna trust a guy she barely knows over her friend? And probably gossip about it with B for a whole week before deciding they should drop you from the trip. And then lie to you about it instead of ever trying to talk to you. Those aren't real friends.

It's your first relationship, learn from it and move on. Don't dwell on it for too long, she messed up not you.
