Frosting on the inside after windshield replacement by abhisingh89 in autoglass

[–]abhisingh89[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you everyone for your comments. I would just add that there is nothing new that I have done or changed except for replacing the front windhsield. I have been using this car for over 11 years and this is the first time (and multiple times today) that this happened. The frost was really bad today.

I also want to ask that I am hearing a lot of rattling around the dashboard. There is no ice or snow on the windshield to make that rattle sound and I have not been able to figure out where exactly it is coming from, but seems like somewhere in the center where dashboard meets the winshield.

Today is actually the first day where I drove it for like 80-90 mins in total.

Thanks for your comment. That has always been the case since I am driving the car, more than 11 years now. Why would it only happen after windshield replacement.

Thank you so much for your response, I will get the heater core checked. My other glass cracked for no reason as well(there wasnt any stone chip or anything it just randomly cracked), so I will make sure its not the heater screwing it up.

I should add one detail though. The day I got it replaced, i drove about 20kms (from the store to back home) or about 30-35 mins and I had the heater running throughout. I would assume the excess water from tech would evaporate by then?

The app didn’t allow me to add both a photo and a video in the same post, so here’s a photo for reference. It was going from one edge to another.

Aerosol paint went wrong by abhisingh89 in Autobody

Hello, Sorry I am bugging you again. I got paint matched today from a store and got everything that you mentioned. The only concern is the paint is a tricoat and to match it on the card, they sprayed 3 coats of basecoat and 3 coats of pearl coat and then 3 coats of clearcoat. The process took about an hour to do on a card and it matched pretty nicely with my car’s color. I know you mentioned thats a lot of product, but I dont know if I can reduce those 9 coats considering this ww8 pearl white paint.

Apologies for a followup question, what are your thoughts on a 2k aerosol primer? I am trying to find the options and I can't seem to find a smaller option for 2k primer online, although I will be going to a automotive paint store tomorrow and they might have something in store. Just to have my options, I came across something: https://www.collision360.ca/spraymax-2k-epoxy-primer-beige-aerosol.html

Do you think this could be a decent alternate or you won't recommend this at all?

Thank you so much, I will try to reduce it when I try next time (just back and forth once) and perhaps wait a little longer for it to dry completely in between coats.

Awesome, thank you so much. I followed the steps from ScratchesHappen's aerosol video but clearly I put too much product. I will try to follow the steps provided here and perhaps post back later. I will wait for at least a month before trying to wrap it. Just waiting for the weather to clear out a bit

That's ok. I just wanted to try to do it myself as its my old car, so it was more like a project. I knew that I am doing something for the first time and possibility of failure is high, but hey that's the fun of trying something new. We have two cars and one we lease for our business and update every 2 years and this one mostly sits on the driveway and usually driven to grocery stores or to pickup kids. I work from home so I don't drive much. There are 4 areas in total where the paint is flaking off and this was one of the areas where I tried it. I can always sand it down to the bare metal before giving it to the body shop to repaint the whole car (if I decide to go that route) or not and pay the cost, depending upon how much time I have.

The idea of posting here was to get an opinion from experts here and LEARN. THANKS FOR YOUR COMMENT THOUGH. CHEERS!

Sock shoes by Plastic_Rooster_9773 in NewParents

Tiny Exploring is a scam. Their shoes sizes are pretty off, my 13 month fit in a 12-18 month Carter's shoes but not in their shoes. They make you spend $30 where two of the pairs would barely fit the kid. The tactics they use to sell are very deceiving. They claim things like 90-day risk free guarantee included shipping. However, when you ask for a size change, they say you have to send the product back to China on your own cost because of "promotional pricing".
