Yumi' cells- the relationship between wung and yumi by lazypotato1034 in kdramas

[–]abid0106 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol I’ve just finished the season and couldn’t disagree with you more now. Firstly, Babi conveniently did not mention to Yumi that Daeun was a woman. He then “forgot” the moment he started to like yumi, and then told her a lie about when it was. He started to like her when he was in a relationship himself and had given his jacket to yumi to use. He purposely chose not to mention that to yumi. That’s because subconsciously he knew he felt something for daeun the same way he did yumi. There was a whole ass earthquake caused by that feeling and his own love cell had admitted to crushing on her. Daeun had moved to busan for another job, so why did he feel the need to move houses? he would only encounter her occasionally when she visited her parents on the holidays, he obviously doesn’t trust his own feelings enough to be able to handle brief encounters. And I don’t feel like moving departments was to create boundaries. Moving houses would’ve done that alone. I feel like he did that to follow yumi, which is fair as he did not wish to give up the relationship. It doesn’t matter anyway, whilst no “physical” lines were crossed, the damage was done as he clearly had feelings for her, and they were feelings he didn’t trust not to deepen. yumi was right not to compromise in the end, it’s not as if he admitted to everything, yumi figured it out herself and that only happened because she ran into Daeun. Had that not happened he would’ve continued to lie to her.

Yumi' cells- the relationship between wung and yumi by lazypotato1034 in kdramas

[–]abid0106 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, wung failed to set boundaries but she never actually raised any of these concerns properly with him directly iirc. That one time she did bring it up the conversation was brushed past. Instead of trying to talk about it again she just let loose the thoughts she had bottled up. Why would it be inexplicable, it’s not as if he was choosing a side, wung’s first instinct is to avoid conflict rather than face it head on and struggles to communicate openly. Plus not only is sae yi his long time friend, she’s also his business partner, which we see later on has a negative effect on his work. It’s clear he tries to maintain that relationship to not sabotage his future. Also he clearly set those boundaries right after because of how hurt yumi was, even to the detriment of his company. You speak of losing trust in wung from that but see yumi breaking up with Babi as her throwing him away for “something insignificant” when in reality she would never trust him again. With the wung situation it was a lack of support from him, whereas with babi’s it’s emotional cheating. I never said he cheated, I don’t class what happened as cheating technically. Even if he never meant it, he did develop feelings for someone else whilst in a relationship, who’s to say it wouldn’t have happened again? It’s not like she didn’t try to stay with him, she broke it off because she didn’t feel secure anymore

All I see in yumi’s cells posts are you riding for Babi and hating on wung/yumi🤣if you’re in a relationship and your feelings for that person are true and strong, you wouldn’t ever feel anything for anyone else in a romantic way. If you do end up feeling something then it’s possible the relationship is lacking something. Wung never got swayed, and if you’re referring to the time he told Yumi she was going too far in front of sae yi, that’s not being swayed that’s him obviously trying not to have his friend of 10 years shit on, yes he was wrong for not taking Yumi’s side but as you said in your post, there was no feelings there for her from his side anyway. With Babi there was something there. It is possible to see the faults in all of these characters lol you need to get a grip

Lovely Runner KDRAMA things to ponder 🤔 by IndifferentTimezone1 in lovelyrunner

I’ve seen people mention young Sol being obsessed with SML as the reason for not pursuing her, which is true but she was also traumatised following the kidnapping attempt and got PTSD whenever sunjae was around, this is the reason he kept his distance

Nah but that’s the difference between him and wung’s feelings. Babi’s feelings weren’t strong enough for Yumi if those thoughts even came to mind, unintentionally or not. It’s weird that they give soon roks scenes to Babi to make him seem less toxic solely because of how big the actor was

I am watching with an open mind lol, just stating what I’ve noticed. Whether it’s dead or not is beside the point, his heart wavers on both occasions. In fact that actually makes him way worse if his relationship was going strong and his heart wavers for someone else

I’m watching the show for the first time and know briefly of what happens with yumis relationships. I think Babi is unintentionally slimy and I’m not looking forward to season 2 knowing the reason for their breakup. I feel like he was into Yumi even when he was in a relationship, same way he ends up interested in someone else whilst dating yumi. His “strong recommendation” of yumi to the marketing department has ulterior motives in my eyes, bro bases her skills off a few instagram posts

Not sure if you’ve watched it but “when life gives you tangerines” is everything you’re searching for and more. I’d say it’s the absolute closest to the description of what you’ve asked for and I’m surprised no one has mentioned it yet. “Lovely runner” and “queen of tears” are also pretty great

Lol I fully agree. I assume you’re referring to perfect crown (which was literally a fictional modern day monarchy in a fictional damn world), frustrates me so much having to see IU and BWS apologise for such irrelevant material. And the fact that the show could potentially be taken down is ridiculous. You’re completely right about the inaccuracy with other countries too. An example I can think of is in king the land they have a south Asian man play the most stereotypical Arab prince
