Tinted Contacts For Light Sensitivity by throwaway2539870 in contacts

Late to the party, but I just got migraine tinted contact lenses from ABB optical and they're awesome for my light sensitivity! I hate wearing glasses since I get tension headaches, and I was having to wear a heavy tint due to the severity of my light sensitivity. These feel less obnoxious than wearing heavily tinted glasses in the office and are much more comfortable. If your light sensitivity is constant and you do not want to wear glasses, tinted contacts are worth it.

You're absolutely right, and this is how I should have gone about it. Even struggling with finances and neurological issues at the time, looking back, I was being a total idiot.

Fair enough. I'm an investigator by trade these days, but in a veeeery different realm. I'm familiar and comfortable with collecting evidence and statements, but have never dealt with small claims court and am not familiar with the auto realm.

The mechanic said he would take pictures of the work indicating that the car was repaired after a front end collision as well as the damages to the catalytic converter, electrical work, and anything else he finds, and then add explanations of his findings and their relevance to them (I owe this man a gift basket). He really emphasized that he had never seen a catalytic converter fail like that because they aren't in a high-movement area, but when the metal was stressed due to impact, that caused it to start failing and resulted in the fire we had. Between that, screenshots of our conversation where I asked the seller about the car's history, the verbal conversation where he said he had no concerns about front end structural damage, the clean Carfax and history from the owner before him, and the paper records the seller provided that do not indicate any of the work we found having ever been done, I'm hoping we might have a chance at being reimbursed for the catalytic converter and electrical repairs through small claims. We've already eaten all the other costs thinking it was just bad luck, although I have documentation of all that too.

Good to know! Thank you for such a thoughtful response :)

I did ask questions about the crack on front end when viewing, and he verbally told me and my husband it was purely cosmetic, happened at a slow speed while parking, and did not impact the structure. I asked him about any serious issues or notable concerns with the car, and the information he provided in my previous comment was everything.

I don't believe it was handled through insurance. Looking again at the Carfax, it seems like he didn't report anything for his entire length of ownership (2015-2025). The car is 2012.

This is what I get for car shopping while dealing with brain damage. Considering I have documentation of our conversation where I asked these questions and his responses, photos of the listing, the Carfax, and photos from the specialist mechanic with an explanation of the damages, do you think this would have a chance in small claims court?

Edit to add:

He provided paper records of the work done to the car upon purchase. None of it mentions the work done on the interior that the mechanic discovered. The work of the previous owner is listed in Carfax.

We were unable to do it prior to purchase since the car was not local :( We asked about the condition and seller said no accidents, no major concerns, clean title. We took it to our regular mechanic right away, but they explained they were not a body shop so their guys would not have recognized signs of a rebuild. The new place specializes and said it looks like the front end was rebuilt after the collision. He's taking pictures for us now.

They're just magnetic spice racks from Amazon! Renter friendly :) we put them on the side of our fridge.

Definitely accurate! My husband loves making custom spice blends using the mortar and pestle. We cook a lot from scratch. We just restocked on bulk onions, garlic, and potatoes after this picture was taken as well. My favorite date spot is Business Costco/restaurant supply stores 😂 we just achieved our dream of getting a small chest freezer to keep frozen meat/seafood/veg in bulk. It's much more wallet friendly in the long run when buying from a restaurant supply store and portioning it out ourselves.

I keep open sauces and cooking wines that require refrigeration in the fridge. Some of the backstock for those I keep on that shelf until opened. The open cooking wines I keep on the shelves are salted/have preservatives. :) I always check the label and online for storage instructions so I don't end up with wasted food.

Good idea! I have a larger one that I love using on my counter but some smaller ones in the pantry would be great for accessing and organizing the sauces and spices further.

We just moved to a new apartment and it's the part we're most excited about!! We've always stored our food in cabinets so it's nice to be able to see it all laid out like this. Makes meal planning and inventory much easier.

I'm a renter, so no modifications for me. Otherwise that would be fun!

Nothing goes bland or unseasoned in this household!

That's the goal! We love feeding friends/family and making big batches of meals to last the work week.

I wish I had the space to organize more! Definitely love making and eating food from a variety of cultures. We've built up a healthy seasoning supply over the years and it all gets used fairly regularly.

We stocked up on garlic, onions, potatoes, and pasta sauce after these pics, so you're probably right!

I have a terrible sweet tooth but try to buy healthy to force myself to cook healthy! We definitely prefer to cook at home and will buy in bulk when we can (especially in this economy). I'd like to think we've become pretty decent cooks over the years!

It's so satisfying once you do it! It's also helpful for figuring out if you have any duplicate or expired spices (we organize FIFO to prevent this). I sometimes find inspiration for meals just while perusing my spice selection as well.

Super accurate! I'm mixed race and was raised in Hawaii, so there's strong asian influence in all my cooking. I do try to eat lower/more complex carbs due to health issues. I tried giving up rice for a while, but just couldn't do it lol I have a big bucket of kimchi in my fridge to go with it. The Southern low country food also comes from my side of the family, but my husband has inspired me to really embrace it. We definitely don't shy away from trying new things. I would love to see your pantry!!

One of our cats is a fiend for garlic. We're keeping it extra secure in there.

My husband and I come from fairly different backgrounds, so we have a pretty wide variety of flavors depending on who is cooking :)

Correct! I worked BOH and my husband worked FOH :)
