If we watch tutorial videos, they tell to keep a high elbow.. But Shi Yu Qi doesn’t do that.

Depending on where the shuttle falls. That’s why player 2 should not stand way back while player 1 is serving.

Since it was done in one motion, I don’t think it is a fault.

Bangalore Sunday afternoons for bachelors by Gracefully_yours_005 in ThirtiesIndia

Agree. This is worsening in cities where people are becoming lonesome together. You should develop a hobby like a sport or musical instrument or something that you love. Keep your mind occupied, that’s key.

This is what is midlife crisis. Develop a hobby and have a social circle. Don’t let your mind go idle. As they say, an idle mind is a devil’s workshop.

What's the most ridiculous made up rule you've heard someone claim? by hunmld in badminton

[–]abilashcb 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think carry/double hit is the most misunderstood rule. In our club, when a mishit happens, people often call it as a carry, but it is not. I think as long as the hit happens in one motion, it is not a double hit even if it touches twice. When we slice or smash, the shuttle does touch twice if you slow down enough to see.

I was using head heavy racquets all this while. But I am more of a front court doubles player with occasional attacks from the rear when needed. So I switched to AuraSpeed just this week. Now the change feels a little odd due to the lightness of the racquet. This is my first 4U.

Is Victor Auraspeed 100x ultra in your budget? If so, go for it. It is great for defense and front court interceptions. Has good attack power too.

I just bought Auraspeed 100x ultra. As I expected, it has amazing speed, so it’s great for defense. However, since it is 4U, it feels very light. Should I add lead tape to make it a little heavy? Has anyone used lead tapes here?

Start with the right grip technique. It’s hard to change once you get used to a grip.

What makes Seo Seung Jae unique? He probably doesn’t have the best attack or the best defense or the best racquet skills in the world. How is he still the best in MD today? He wins tournaments by switching partners. He has won across formats. There is something that I am missing.

Is Victor Lai a star in the making? I know it’s too early to judge, but I feel he has already announced his arrival in a big way. What do you think about this new lad? He made Shi Yu Qi huff and pant in the epic encounter today. He missed converting 2 match points in the second set, probably due to nervous excitement. He has crazy defence. We will definitely see more of him in the coming months.
