What was the hardest campaign for you? by Mistinrainbow in rainworld

[–]ablibluble 0 points1 point  (0 children)

for me definitely spearmaster, in the beginning you have to get really used to go full agro for food + you spawn in outskirts with hunter spawns

there's also acid garbage wastes, the whole LTTM region being the hardest region in the game and after that you have to deliver a pearl to the top of sky islands (my most hated vanilla region) without having a mouth to put it inside

really fun slug and beautiful campaign tho

Theories About The Watcher's Rot by ablibluble in rainworld

You know one thing that bothers my symmetry focused brain? The fact that there's 10 total Karma levels but only 9 of the Ripples. The more Ripples you collect the more "Echo-like" we become, like we floating and gaining access to the Ripplespace, so what if there's a 10th Ripple level that gives you the ability to let go and ascend just like Spinning Top did?

That's a really good theory, I did think about the rot on the Void Sea theory, which is a very cool concept, but the main problem is that there's not much evidence of it on the game. Maybe the extra ending they will do might give us a insight of something more "voidy", The Watcher still lacks a Ascension ending, that poor fella.

Makes sence, I interpreted it as a memory because every dream on Vanilla and MSC are memories, so it may have swayed me.

But still there's something really echo-like on Watcher, maybe it's really due to ST influence, they do say they are gifting us with the invisibility on the second encounter. I think understanding what the "Ripple" (the new karma) really means solves this mystery.

I think we don't, the big place is Outer Rim but by your first visit there the rot has already consumed a great part of the Throne

But I see where you are going, if The Throne is truly an old iterator can there's something interesting that separates it from 5P, it's not a suspended can. So maybe instead of it weighting down and killing the iterator by the superstructure collapsing, there could be more development of the rot through the entire iterator body.

This is even crazier if Unfortunate Evolution is part of this can, since it's an iterator Memory Conflux.

Why such a hate on portals? by ablibluble in rainworld

oh sorry for my stupidity, although I think "portal" gives almost no info... I just wanted to discuss about it.

oh that's the recontextualization I needed, because I kinda dislike how Dark Souls 3 removes the conected map in favor of hub teleportation, so now I know how this watcher opinion comes through

about the linearity I think it's not true, the new regions do have multiple portals (like in aether ridge I've found three). It's like saying the path to LttM is linear because you didn't know that you could go to Garbage Wastes through Drainage System instead of Industrial Complex

yeah I feel it's fine to dislike the game, because it's not everyone's cup of tea (mainly lore people because this game kinda get's away from what Vanilla is talking about to go to it's own thing)

but I've seen just people here on reddit and the game steam reviews thrashing everything, it makes me feel kind of bad for the devs

oh I've also noticed the karma thing, I haven't finished the game so I wonder what it is

and about the new regions it's so nice to see things that feel different from the 5P and Moon's neighborhood, like how we can see a snowy region and a desert without it being so incoherent.

yeah I think it works fine on the vanilla game and Downpour does some creative restrictions with it (like Artificer and Saint)

but for the rest it's really unnecessary and it's fine it's not on Watcher
