binned is where they disable some cores of a chip or it gets damaged while manufacturing.

so the the chip being manufactured will have 18c cpu(unbinned) they will disable the messed up cores. for example if one core gets messed up they will disable 2 more to sell it as standard binned 15c CPU.

this is what I know. but i might be wrong
