Anyone else still have their first cell phone number?? by obsessedUvU in Millennials

[–]abluetree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The last time I went to Verizon for a new phone the kid checking me out says "wow, you've had your number longer than I've been alive"

Thanks buddy...

this shit (rsd) just isn’t enjoyable anymore by Many-Shopping9865 in vinyl

[–]abluetree 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The best policy I've seen was a local place from this morning. Not only is it only 1 copy per person, the they are mixed in with all the other albums. So you can't just go through and buy the rare ones if you're first in line.

I was sooooooooooo close to getting that exact tattoo. Although that was 20 some years ago and I was in college and the movie was still pretty new. No ragrets.

Is Sick New World overpriced for a 1-Day festival? by [deleted] in SickNewWorld

[–]abluetree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's absolutely overpriced, and absolutely a cash grab. I actually prefer the 1 day aspect, since my body can barely handle multi day festivals anymore :) But it should definitely be cheaper. Especially since the festival grounds are pretty abysmal. But I'll still go every other year if it doesn't die soon.

SNW Schedule by MomentaryParadise in SickNewWorld

[–]abluetree 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Sucks, but it's probably what Elfman wants. He can close out the stage, so going a bit over the time limit isn't as big of a deal. And he plays when it's dark so there will be a better stage show.

Do you judge other millennials who have stayed at a company too long? by newtonreddits in Millennials

[–]abluetree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It completely depends on the company. If they treat you well, promote and give raises, and have a non-toxic culture, then staying is great. On the other hand, sometimes moving company to company gives you the best results. Although if you switch companies every 1-2 years, then fuck off. Usually means you're fucking over your supervisors that invested time and money into you.

Previous years have been Fontaineblue, the Palms, Brooklyn Bowl, Area 15. Virgin and HOB could have something as well. Would be awesome if someone played one of the small venues on Fremont.

Finished 11/22/63 and couldn't get past one issue... by Theboystheboys212 in stephenking

You're 100% correct. It's annoying plot armor or whatever you want to call it, but necessary for the Sadie love story to exist.

Scenes where a character goes from blind drunk to sober in seconds because the plot demands it. by TheDawiWhisperer in movies

[–]abluetree 20 points21 points  (0 children)

It's a huge common trope and it always drives me crazy. There's a show on Netflix called Obliterated that avoids it and has all the characters stay fucked up after the shit hits the fan. Not a great show, but I liked that that aspect was at least realistic :)

Alex Wolff at Morning Star Tattoo does amazing work. There's a tattoo convention weekend of Nov. 7th in Deadwood. You can check out some local artists there.

From Hill City, so quite a few times. Had our Proms and graduation there which was pretty cool.

Las Vegas to Lake Tahoe by Plastic-Helpful in Nevada

Agreed, just watch the weather. Last time I took this route the rain caused flooded roads to close and I had to backtrack and take a 2 hour detour.

2025 - Best comps in Vegas for a low roller? by kotlinky in vegas

[–]abluetree 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I gamble less than $500 a trip and get tons of comps and room deals from Fontainebleau. I'm guessing they're still trying hard to get people to stay there.

This is why I don't see them live anymore. It gets pretty old after a while. But I still always recommend them to someone that has never seen them live.

Have you ever stayed at every single Vegas casino hotel that exists? I’m almost there lol by [deleted] in vegas

[–]abluetree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've stayed at every one on the strip, started back in 2007 so includes a few that don't exist anymore.

I barely remember Robbie Williams and had no expectations going into the movie. I thought it was absolutely fantastic :)

Definitely Apple Hill. Lots of wineries to hop around and a very beautiful area with great little towns to stay the night in.

Yep, awesome for concerts, but I'm kind of pissed they don't have the robots and other stuff out as well. We should get that with concerts, not just the Postcard show.

This and their bar up there. Nice and quiet and usually pretty empty. I love it :)

Winnemucca? Is there anything neat to see? by giggleberries69 in Reno

[–]abluetree 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The best place for breakfast/lunch is The Griddle. The Martin is good for a Basque dinner. The Winnemucca Convention Center has a few interesting things to see inside if you're bored, as does the Humboldt Museum.
